Archaeologists Discover 13,800-Year-Old Underwater Site at Haida Gwaii

An archaeological discovery from this past September could put the earliest inhabitation in Canada at around 13,800 years ago, reported CBC News. Right now it's all on sonar images captured by an underwater robotic vehicle. Archaeologist Quentin Mackie from the University of Victoria (UVIC) and his team returned from a research trip to the Haida Gwaii archipelago in August, where they used an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) to scan the sea floor in search of evidence of ancient human inhabitation.

His team has been looking for proof of the earliest human presence in North America for decades, and what they think they've found is a fishing weir (a man-made rock formation) on the bottom of Juan Perez Sound under 122 meters of water. There are other formations on the sea floor that the team thinks are the sites of ancient camps of the same age.

Scientists think that area was at sea level 14,000 years ago and was mostly one large island that stretched across Hecate Strait east toward the mainland. The area has been submerged by 120 meters of water since that last Ice Age. The oldest artifact discovered in Canada so far came from Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site -- it was dated to 12,700 years old...

Mackie and Fedje have theorized humans inhabited the area that's now deep under Hecate Strait at around 16,000 to 17,000 years ago. So far, they have no hard proof, but they may be getting closer. And it's not just technology, but agreements between the Governments of Canada and the Haida Nation may also have set the stage for an exciting discovery.

Now that’s just plain weird. It’s almost like ol’ gaia pretty much does whatever she feels like and thinks “Go ahead asshats. I’ve been here a lot longer than you and I’ll be around long after you’re gone.” She’ll shake us off like a herd of dead fleas.

Here’s a hint:

13,800 years ago those folks were NOT INDIANS!

To be clear they were not the ancestors of the folks Columbus encountered.

For reference, see Kennewick Man.

Our recent history dates back only to last great global catastrophe. Most likely it was a worldwide flood as stated in the Bible. There are little to no records of Pre-flood history. All we have as evidence are thousands of ancient cities and monuments above and below the ocean. Academia will not talk about these unexplained sites and structures. They ignore all the evidence like on the ground special reporting from Baghdad Bob.

Scientists should really be looking at possible causes for a global flood around 10,000 years ago

There is too much evidence something global took place

Was he restricted to water or did he go on land?”

Geologists have us believing that the Earth has had its present amount of water since its beginning, and they are so wrong. See here:

What really gets me is the “global warming is a serious danger but I don’t want to see any windmills way out in the ocean from my beach” hypocrites.

By definition, liberals are two-faced liars and huge hypocrites. It's in their DNA. Otherwise, they'd be conservatives.

Some years back, California passed a law mandating cities to increase the percentage of energy from "sustainable sources". The lawmakers were pushed into it by the radical environmentalists. Well, San Diego decided to go out in the desert east of their city and put up solar panels to comply with the mandate. They were blocked from doing so because the solar panels would create a scar on the landscape. Who blocked them? The same radical environmentalists who wanted the solar power to be mandated to begin with.

So, there you have it. Hypocrisy defined.

"Now remember, the University told us that in order to maintain funding for this project, we've got to provide evidence of anthropogenic climate change! So if this probe finds anything, ANYTHING that remotely resembles a smokestack, a BBQ grill, or a gas-guzzling SUV, document it!"

"Professor, how could an ancient civilization be driving SUVs?"

"You want an 'F' this semester?"

They’re hypocrites, obviously, but they know that if Kennedys don’t want to look at offshore windmills from their inherited estates, not only is the family part of the meritocracy, they’ll be in a position to impose political penalties. And after all, since the climate is 100 percent natural 100 percent of the time — and the social engineers behind the hoax know this — a couple of extra windmills here or there make no difference.
