Getting ships to generate smaller bubbles as they sail across the oceans could counteract the impact of climate change, a study suggests.
Scientists from University of Leeds, UK, say this would create a brighter wake behind a vessel and reflect more sunlight back into space.
However, it could also increase rainfall in some areas.
The findings were presented at the American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting in San Francisco.
This is the latest idea from the hotly debated field of geoengineering - manmade global fixes to climate change.
Suggestions for reducing the amount of solar radiation absorbed by the Earth range from installing giant mirrors in space to injecting salt into clouds to make them more reflective.
But Leeds' Prof Piers Forster said the bubbles idea was a more plausible scheme.

They are just making things up so they get more taxpayer money to “study”.
Leeds, a Prime Locale of the Loonie Left. "The Scientists" should spend more time working on improving the Fish and Chips available in this dreary town, not to mention the still rather sketchy idea of plumbing available to the natives.
It is also possible that these "Scientists" were misunderstood, as the local idea of English is also rather sketchy.

I don't even know what to say. Totally speechless. We've now covered everything from the existence of life on earth as the cause of global warming to bubbles in the ocean. What the hell are we suppose to do about waves hitting beaches?

The object of all these guys is grant money and to get published. Controversy insures grant money forever. They know what they’re doing...financially at least.
The smaller bubbles would counteract the flapping butterfly wings effect, thus stabilizing the climate.
However, if the bubbles get too small we're totally screwed.
If that happens, it would be just like with lead/acid batteries and bubbles building up on the plates.
If that happens, the earth would not have enough cranking amps to continue to spin and we'd all die horrible deaths.

Shrinking the Government Funded Climate “Science” funding bubble could solve many of the proposed problems.
One really good thing about the last “government shutdown” was that it interfered with the flow of tax money to these “researchers”.
Are all these people eating LSD regularly, Are they ever Drug Tested? Or are they really this Vain??
