Truthfully, abortion and God dont go too well together. But apparently, according to a new article on the pro-abortion website Think Progress titled, God Loves Women Who Have Abortions': The Religious Abortion Advocates That History Forgot more religious leaders should support reproductive freedom.
The article presents three main points: God loves women whove had abortions, religious clergy joined the pro-abortion movement because too many women were dying from back alley abortions and historically the religious community has failed to love post-abortive women.
First of all, of course God loves women who have had abortions, thats NEVER been in question.
Yet, the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice argues that the religious community hates post-abortive women. Their president, pro-abortion Reverend Harry Knox said, As faith leaders, we all feel literally called and supported by spirit on a daily basis to model something different in the face of this overwhelming message to people that theyre not enough, that theyre not loved, and that in fact theyre hated. Our message is that you are loved, loved, loved. God loves women who have abortions.
Although it is true that there have been religious pro-lifers who have failed to approach abortion in a gracious and loving way, most pro-lifers agree that women are just as important as the unborn life within her. There are also countless pro-life groups dedicated to ministering to post-abortive women such as Rachels Vineyard, Silent No More and Priests for Life. They share with women the truth about abortion and then help them heal from the death of their baby.
Secondly, the coathanger argument that claims that women everywhere will turn to dangerous illegal abortions if Roe is overturned has been refuted countless times. In fact, former abortionist, Dr Bernard Nathanson said there was actually very little illegal abortion prior to Roe.
As LifeNews previously reported, Dr. Nathanson said that in order to push a legal-abortion agenda, they would [fabricate] the number of illegal abortions done annually in the U.S. The actual figure was approaching 100,000 but the figure we gave to the media repeatedly was 1,000,000. Repeating the big lie often enough convinces the public. The number of women dying from illegal abortions was around 200-250 annually. The figure we constantly fed to the media was 10,000.
Additionally, in the article Rev. Knox argues that the religious community should remember that Jesus addressed the marginalized of society with love and compassion. The pro-abortion Reverend is correct, Jesus did do those things; but can you seriously fathom Jesus telling a post-abortive woman that its totally fine that she killed her baby? No of course not; because that would be a lie, and isnt the foundation of Christianity centered on righteousness and truth?
But then one might argue that the center of Christianity isnt necessarily truth; instead its love. Well, if you look at the Bibles definition of love, which is laid out in 1 Corinthians 13, love rejoices in the truth and doesnt delight in evil. Therefore, wouldnt logic bring us to the conclusion that advocating for abortion isnt loving because it isnt true that Jesus would condone the killing of babies? The fact of the matter is real love doesnt lie about the facts and the facts are concrete; abortion takes the life of an innocent human being. Also, wouldnt the category of marginalized people Rev. Knox is referring to include the unborn since they are the ones with no voice?
Since the Bible references and emphasizing the importance of all human life countless times (Matthew 18:10, Jeremiah 1:5, Exodus 21:22-23, Psalm 139:13-15) and some of these leaders who support abortion say theyre followers of Jesus, they should remember that they will be accountable Him at the end of their life. I sure hope that they realize soon that Jesus doesnt take the killing of children and misleading of women lightlyespecially since they know better. It would be a very frightening thing to have to stand in front of God and say yes not only did I advocate for killing when I knew better, I also used your name to justify it.
Yep, just as Jesus would have accepted Caesar Augustus as his god! (please note this is a sarcastic comment)
Stinkprogress (Center for American Progress), eh? Soros website and organization. Sad that anyone takes them seriously.
I’d never heard of them till now.
ahahaahaha INDEED!
wake me when this is all over!
I would assume those are the “intellectually challenged” clergy that were ordained under a quota system devised under the Disabled Americans Act.
Matthew 12:20—
“A crushed reed He will not utterly break, nor will He quench the still smouldering wick, until He has led on Justice to victory.”
Remember that Herod tried to do a post term abortion on Jesus and killed many babies in hopes of doing so. Jesus would approve ay?
Friggin’ deceivers....
Luke 17:2
It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
Maybe I should ping you every time I post one of these. Just in case one of them is a mega church pastor?
They’re bad enough for J.R. to disallow posting from their site. Quite the bastion of splenetic liberal propaganda.
It’s always nice to read about some religious leader saying something stupid and finding it was NOT said by Pope Francis.
“The article presents three main points: God loves women whove had abortions, religious clergy joined the pro-abortion movement because too many women were dying from back alley abortions and historically the religious community has failed to love post-abortive women. “
So in this case this clergy must really love the Taloban, ISIS and other assorted murderers.
I suggest that this clergy invite their loves the Taloban, ISIS and other assorted murderers to their places of worship and bless them
“Pro-Abortion Clergy Claim Jesus Would Accept Abortion”
Only for unborn black children.
Right, Reverend? Reverend? Heeelllooooooo.....
1.) God loves women whove had abortions.
God loves the sinner but hates the sin.
2.) Religious clergy joined the pro-abortion movement because too many women were dying from back alley abortions.
Nope, they were weak and did not care to find out how to truly help a woman. It is much easier to hand the woman a telephone number.
3.) Historically the religious community has failed to love post-abortive women.
There are more problem pregnancy centers than abortion clinics.
Well you know Jeff, they wonder why The Guttmacher Institute, did a poll and women when asked said they were “Christian” after seeking an abortion.
I post the data and everyone says The Guttmacher Institute is making it up and lying. NO the The Guttmacher Institute is telling the truth. Why you ask? Because of charlatans like this! The shepard is leading the flock off a cliff.
if this is all out of love let planned parenthood do them all for free.
Obviously doesn’t know the Jesus I know who is holding back His righteous wrath against the nations which have legalized child sacrifice.
Enjoy Hell, Harry.
Notice how with every worthy and worthless cause that comes along, Jesus needs to be invoked by their proponents. Jesus was an abolishionist. Jesus was a labor organizer. He was a socialist, civil rights activist, homeless, some say Jesus would be OK with same-sex marriages (polygamy and beastiality are coming down the pike). I once got into an argument with a bunny hugger who said Jesus was a vegan. So Jesus is whoever the progs need him to be at the moment.
