I wasn’t super blown away.
That’s what they said about “Noah”, but it had a lot of material from the Book of Enoch. Movies are entertainment. If I want the bible story, I read the bible.
I was going to see it tomorrow! Tell me what you didn’t like. This is disappointing.
Is this the one where they have an eight year old bratty boy play the part of God?
a lot of cgi (no doubt) about a story that they don’t believe in the first place.
And they wonder why it will be awful.
Rotten Tomatoes: 28% Critics, 40% Audience ratings.
I will probably go see it because it looks good. Maybe not accurate, but entertaining.
I don’t think they have to make them a religious event but sort of like a historical novel, they should not make them to be historically irrelevant either.
Thanks for the clue - but knew that’s what it would be.....just like Noah.......
Hollywood loves to feed a false narrative to nominal Christians and unbelievers to totally mis-represent what the Bible actually states. If you know the real story, the total distortions are very disturbing - especially the ones that misrepresent the character of major Bible characters - all sinners like the rest of us, but without all the garbage that Hollywood adds.......
They have to at least try to be true to the story if they want to interest me. I never saw Noah and if your take is consistent with others’ I won’t bother with it either. I still like the Ten Commandments. It is not perfect but they tried to be true.
If it was produced in Homowood, you can guarantee that it is a complete perversion of the Bible. Thanks for the warning, but I an already aware.
Never go to Hollyweird for accurate historical or true Biblical movies. I will say that Mel Gibson did a great job with The Passion ....
The Golden Globe nominations are out and once again, I am proud to say I haven’t seen a single one of the movie nominees. Movies today are garbage and I won’t waste my time and money on them.
I would have suspected as much
Thanks
I read some pretty awful reviews on IMDB. I was kind of surprised, but after Noah I shouldn’t be.
I want to sing you a song and then wreck a brand new car, after a night of bingeing...
The only reason they made this movie was to show off special effects and the Exodus story gave them a great opportunity. Thus they are using the Bible to make money for an incredible event they believe to be fantasy.
Thanks for taking one for the team. It had “suckage” written all over it, but I’m glad someone confirmed that.
Saw an advance screening and walked out. Moses and the Jews are portrayed as terrorist insurgents. Moses himself is Godless. “God” is portrayed as a vengeful, blood thirsty child, and the Egyptians are portrayed sympathetically — you actually are pushed to the verge of tears at their suffering, and Scott tries to make you HATE the Jews. It is disgusting. I see Glenn Beck posted his own disgust on FB from inside the theater. STAY AWAY!
Thanks for the heads-up,
Sounds like its the same as that recent Noah movie,
Just another godless director parading around his arrogant cast (openly hostile to the actual message) who proudly demean the greatest leaders and prophets ever to walk the Earth, either that gladiator actor playing Noah, or now this ignorant batman guy, whoever he is,
It lately seems as if those of a leftist mentality have all become so self-absorbed and comfortable with the authority they possess and with no one to challenge them, they can now, like some crazy rich aunt without a care or fear of consequence, regurgitate any and all malignant ideas that immediately enter their minds, - for example gruber, pelosi, biden etc.,
They no longer practice selective verbalization of their thoughts, its an extreme arrogance running unhindered, its a sign or precursor of the coming downfall of that collective mindset,
All the while taking extreme liberties with the history and direct message of God concerning bringing a people (Israel) out of Egypt (this fallen world) and into a holy covenant with him,
Whereby God established the very mechanism within the Law that would then enable the coming of the Messiah to this fallen creation once the correct accounting of time was reached, we can hardly expect some atheist director to be able to portray something so entirely unfathomable to him,
All done in the the service of making a dollar for some vain movie studio execs that likely share an equal amount of disdain for those that believe the historical biblical narrative,
Think I’ll pass on the movie,
