I’d hate to tell my grandkids (iffin I had any) about the good old days when I saw men walking on the moon.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I read somewhere that there will not be a manned Orion flight till 2021! I hope I’m wrong about that anyone know?

Sounds about right.
NASA and the nation have become too risk averse.

Count me underwhelmed -- here we are, "going back to space" in what is, except for the control systems, essentially 1960s technology.
"Going to Mars!"... I'm compelled to point out that if the U.S. hadn't burned $15 trillion on the 'great society' welfare state over the last fifty years, we'd be on Mars already. And likely beyond.

Supposed to send my students to bed now (midnight here). I’ve told them we will wait until the next update or ten minutes. If it gives a reasonable time...

I.m just glad kinds are interested.
Chris Hadfield is probably one of the best things to happen for space exploration in a long time. Just an all around great PR man.

Weather-only hold, pending wind shift or gust reduction. Wind speed limit from north constrained due to risk of debris/propellant fall-out in case of launch failure (Cocoa Beach, etc.). Plenty of time left in this window.

Yeah - their interest is the reason I’m willing to push things a bit. I’m normally very strict on this - but it’s also very near the end of our school year.

Oh great, that'll upset the muslims. Then we'll be hold until they can kill the offenders.
