The magnificent and shy singer Susan Boyle has her first boyfriend at age 53 ? a Connecticut doctor she met on her recent U.S. tour who may soon visit her in Scotland.

"That's the plan," Boyle's spokeswoman, Nicola Phillips, said Monday. "She met someone when she was in America and the idea is that he can come here."

Boyle and the doctor met at a hotel in Clearwater, Florida, Phillips said, adding that Boyle is "definitely" happy to have met someone.

The church volunteer from a small Scottish town became a global sensation when she sang the "Les Miserables" number "I Dreamed a Dream" on TV contest "Britain's Got Talent" in 2009. At first she seemed uncomfortable on stage, but she silenced skeptics as soon as she started to sing.

Boyle said at the time she had never been kissed.

I never heard Festus sing either.

It looks like he started out as a singer, and then dropped it after he became an actor.

Whereas Jim Nabors made his name as an actor before he started doing much singing. I remember when he left Gomer Pyle and went to the variety show, and people said, "OMG! Gomer Pyle is singing!"

I was thrilled when I heard her voice, loved her duet with Elaine Paige, the singer she so admired. Then Paul Potts, and his fantastic voice. Now Jackie Evancho thrills crowds all over the world, has turned into a stunningly beautiful teenager.

But I have rediscovered the Carpenters, Karen's fantastic voice. I watch and listen to those old songs over and over that I missed because I was so frantically busy in those years. She could sing the D below middle C and span 3 octaves. She has some new fans from the younger generation and over and over I'm seeing they believe she had the best female voice ever.

I think that’s a might thing for her to have a boyfriend. She represents herself and the UK well. Best of God’s blessing to her.

Nice.... sometimes you don’t find someone until late in life. A doctor from Connecticut and they met in Clearwater, Florida.

As a gleam of hope for the lonely?

Besides, very nice to hear some happy news for a change.
God bless her.
