A union operative generously praised New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman when he announced he was taking a Papa Johns pizza franchisee to court on behalf of workers who claim they were underpaid. The state attorney general, like the unions, called it wage theft.
The thing is, the union official knew about the governments lawsuit before the pizza franchise did.
Fast-food workers all across the city and country are organizing for higher pay and union rights, said Kendall Fells, organizing director for Fast Food Forward, a group dedicated to increasing wages and benefits for fast-food workers. Fells added:
"This suit shows why their campaign is so important. And it shows that Attorney General Schneiderman is serious about holding fast-food companies accountable for wage theft."
Fells comments came in a press release from Schneidermans office announcing the lawsuit.
That means Fells, also on the payroll of the Service Employees International Union, knew New Yorks attorney general was going after the Papa Johns franchisee before its owner, Ronald Johnson, did.
The suit, filed Oct. 16 in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan, seeks more than $2 million for more than 400 delivery workers in restitution, damages and interest from New Majority Holdings LLC, operator of five Papa Johns restaurants in Manhattan.
To some, this smacks of cronyism and calls into question the nature of the relationship between government officials such as Schneiderman, a Democrat who took office in 2011, and worker centers such as Fast Food Forward that are backed by the Service Employees International Union, or SEIU.

These are most likely franchise owners like most fast food.
Younger blacks are working in most fast food places, and; the illegals will soon replace these punks and their white buddies who demand more.
What exactly are the Unions claiming that Poppa Johns has done that constitutes wage theft?
I skimmed the article, the read it and it still doesn’t say what they did.
Yes. The owner of Poppa Johns is a known Republican contributor and held a fund raiser in his home for Mitt Romney during the elections in 2012.
Also, automation. Technology is already being developed to replace the cooks, preparers and cashiers. If these extortion rackets continue, expect the development of this automation to accelerate. It’s already being used in Japan and some other countries to varying degrees.
Automation is doing a real job in factories especially to routine tasks like measuring, mixing, cutting, shaping, etc. I saw one such plant on TV where the entire product was made with machines and one man per so many machines.
Here is one article on automation in the restaurant industry. Automation is coming to other industries as well:

After everybody else is paid those workers will get their .15 cent check.
