I don’t disagree with you that the Republicans are loathsome squids, but how much drinking did you do last night? Talk about a gloom and doomer.

Reagan made us conservatives all optimistic. Obama made lots of conservatives overly pessimistic. I've seen many posters in the last few years who've seemed more interested in living under the whim and ukase of a former KGB Colonel than living in the USA. They've berated elections and democracy as if they were completely ignorant of what life is like when the rule of law and self government are gone.

Wisdom means having perspective and good judgment. Speaking and writing as if all is lost in the USA is just nonsense. We're still one of the best places to emigrate to for most people in the world. You can live better in the USA for less money than almost anywhere else. If you don't accept that the USA is a great place, you can still go off and find a country that fits ya' better, I say. I think you've identified a real problem. Some folks are just too glum. Even in victory they feel the need to whine.

Sometimes it takes booze to get through the hard times. Like reading anything from AP, for instance.

In my case its' a large bottle of Fin Du Monde and a few pumpkin spice jello shots, both left over from the kids' Halloween party last weekend.

PS: The secret ingredient in the jello shots was not love. It was Goldschlager.
