Reagan made us conservatives all optimistic. Obama made lots of conservatives overly pessimistic. I've seen many posters in the last few years who've seemed more interested in living under the whim and ukase of a former KGB Colonel than living in the USA. They've berated elections and democracy as if they were completely ignorant of what life is like when the rule of law and self government are gone.
Wisdom means having perspective and good judgment. Speaking and writing as if all is lost in the USA is just nonsense. We're still one of the best places to emigrate to for most people in the world. You can live better in the USA for less money than almost anywhere else. If you don't accept that the USA is a great place, you can still go off and find a country that fits ya' better, I say. I think you've identified a real problem. Some folks are just too glum. Even in victory they feel the need to whine.
Poor hombre, still labors under the delusion there’s a rule of law here in America.
Hombre, you need lots of money to have rule of law. Then the law is your friend.
Sheeple with no money don’t have access to rule of law. They get told sit down and shut up, and the judge will decide when he’s going to tell you how much you’re going to owe.
You can live better in the US for less money ?
Less money ?
You must not live in NJ.
Our government hates Christ, loves all things anti-Christ.
Or haven’t you heard ?
Trouble is, so does the government of every other country.
My ancestors ran from Europe in the 1600’s and “escaped” the US.
That didn’t work, cuz the Satanic tranders/banksters followed them here.
You know what then - the whole mess from Europe followed the here.
And it’s taken 250 years or so, but they’re starting to persecute true believing Christians... again. Here.
I’m not going to jump up and applaud because some new world order minions got elected.
And I’m not running anywhere, if you run and have success, the evil follows you. Besides, there’s nowhere safe left to run to.
The good people can’t fight a defensive battle and win. They have to attack evil. With the light of truth. Evil hates the truth - it runs from the light.

elhombrelibre, I agree with your general sentiment of over pessimism. I also agree that there is still a HUGE difference between America and countries like North Korea, and many in Africa.
However, your reference to "rule-of-law"(ROL) is very important. It is one of the most important fundamental underpinnings of America and her success. Yet Obama and recent years have shown that the respect for ROL in this country is at an all-time low. The election of many republicans yesterday was a rejection of Obama's pathetic universal health care implementation, a rejection of his economic policies leading to joblessness, and a rejection of his cowering international policies leading to millions of homeless in the mid-east.
Unfortunately, the ROL still has gained no respect. Under rule of law Obama, the son of foreigners, cannot even be president. When secretaries of state, and attorney generals fail to enforce the law even when demanded by official legal proceedings, on a matter of the utmost importance. Then the unlawful leader we elect proceeds at every turn to ignore the rule of law and commit crimes while nothing is done about it. What can we say about ROL in America under such circumstances?
Pessimism? America may not have fallen yet, but we pulled out one key pillar of her support ROL, and every other pillar is under attack.
