BENTONVILLE, Ark., Oct. 27 (UPI) -- Big-box superstore Walmart has publicly apologized for listing plus-sized women's Halloween costumes as "Fat Girl Costumes" on its official website, calling the decision to do so "unacceptable." The offensive listing was discovered and reported on by Gawker imprint Jezebel just prior to 10 a.m., about 90 minutes before Walmart began to change their web-copy.

Would think they would have a lot of demand for those costumes.
What could be scarier than that?
Helen Thomas?
they forget her ridiculous belt she wears nearly up to her boobs!
OK, you got me there.
Just came from my local W-M. Obesity run rampant, all of them on their cells phones. Big sign on the way out : “ Help us Fight Hunger “
Nowadays it’s called “curvy.”
*eyeroll*
Do you also have stats for the average obese Brit, German, Mexican, etc. woman?
Those costumes be all about that bass ....
Hehehehhe
Yep but hooks, eyepatches, and peglegs making fun of the handicapped is OK ;)
If you’re a smart company you’re not going to insult your customers by calling them fat or lard asses. You use positive sounding euphemisms that get potential clients interested in your product. “Plus-size.” “Full-figure.” “Women’s sizes.” Marketing 101.
But hey, it’s Walmart and they can do no wrong and overweight women (who obviously know they’re overweight, that’s why they’re looking for larger sizes) don’t deserve to be treated nicely by vendors.
Really, they don’t need costumes. They could just go without clothes, and perhaps toss on some fake blood for effect.
That would scare the hell out of me, and I’d definitely run in the other direction! lol
