We’re more alike than different. And evil shouldn’t find a home in either place.

If that cartoon - just as it is - did not touch your heart it must be made of stone.

I'm not saying it's not a good cartoon, but it would be a classic if it was done in the style of Lee Teter's Reflections. Here, I'll help you get started...

Many of my ancesters came from Canada—both Irish, and French and Native American. I feel their pain at this terrorist act. They did not deserve this. Now, as always, they stand with us to face this new darkness that is slowly enveloping the world. We stood together to face the Nazis and their special evil, we died together on Normandy Beaches, we won that fight—and we will win this new battle.

I’m guessing it is a cannon.
There was a thread yesterday with a link to an interview with a gal that had just taken photos of the two guards. She was walking to work, and she was thinking what a beautiful day it was, and the two men guarding the memorial made such a pretty picture.

She got about a half-block away and heard the shots. She ran back to help (others were fleeing). She had been a medic. She said others were already there putting pressure on his wounds. She just kept talking to him about how much he was loved. By his family, his comrades, etc. And she wanted his family to know that he didn’t die alone. Very touching.

I don’t understand why these twitchy threads don’t link to the photos in question, or just post the photos, why is that?

What?! You want more realism take a photo! Cartoons of this variety are seldom “realistic”. It’s a medium of exaggeration and impression, not fine portrait. I’m sorry that your sensibilities are such that you’re unable to appreciate the talent of the cartoonists’ craft!
