Well, having a double laminectomy/ Discectomy tomorrow. I don't really want to do it, but the doctor says the longer I wait the less likely function will return. I have 50% weakness in the left leg and a foot drop. It turns out I have direct impingement on the nerves which is blocking the nerve impulses. I've done excersize/therapy in the past. This time 0% improvement after 5 weeks of therapy. If this doesn't give me some improvement I'm looking at medical retirement (law enforcement). I don't really want to retire now, but God is good, I guess we'll let him take care of it. I would appreciate any and all prayers for me. I'm getting older and not afraid to admit I need all the help I can get. Please be advised any responses to this thread after tomorrow afternoon might be a little flaky or bizarre due to pain medication. Apologies in advance.

Hey, you made it!!! Take your drugs; enjoy the wild dreams. Rest and feel better, bud!
Thank you. I’m due for my next dilaudid in 12 minutes.

I had a left L5-S1 diskectomy in 1990 and had great relief of pain, and, over the following year, regained all the slight weakness I lost.
Have been asymptomatic for the last 24 years.
Be optimistic, pray, I will too, let me know how it goes.
I think you will be impressed at how easy it will be.
Ping right back.
will pray for you.
I’m amazed I’m already walking around! I was able to get myself dressed and am just waiting for my ride. I can’t drive for 2 weeks and for a car guy that’s killing me! And I just bought a new car! Oh,well.

Fantastic news!
You will be amazed, too, at how quickly that 2 weeks will pass.
Don’t you worry about a thing.
Thanks Laz... Wait, are you hitting on me?
J/K!
