German clinic forced to scrap two machines worth £1m because Ebola patient vomited on them"
He recovered after five weeks of intense treatment but not before vomiting on two expensive machines - first vomited on a mobile x-ray machine and then on an equally expensive ultrasound scanner that now must be scrapped.

[ Fortunately, I dont have any liberal neighbors. :) ]
You mean not any more....
Speaking of X-rays, do you know if they figured out a way to make an X-ray “laser” seems to me like it would be a great way to shoot stuff out of the air like nuclear missles, and UFOs, etc....
You mean if you survive?
:-)
LOL. Only you.
I worked in a blood lab during the time of AIDs. We had blood testing machines that would have all kinds of patients’ blood in them, including AIDS patients. We cleaned the dotters (that sucked up the sera and dotted them onto trays) out with lots of water and then alcohol. So why wouldn’t alcohol work on these machines? Or bleach?
ask Ron Klein what to do..
Hes our current token Ebola expert...
the go to guy...
Im sure he’ll say something that will include transportation by bus...
I’d cleaned them and put them in storage for six months. Ebola can only survive 6-8 days outside a host according to research.
Because it’s designed for processing large volumes of blood with disposable tubing cartridges etc.
I guess it is too silly to suggest they X-Ray the one machine, and kill the virus that way...
Probably there aren’t any more out there.
We had a Henke 16KV source too. There were only 9 built in the 50’s... ours was the last operational one when we scrapped it in the 90’s.
No loss, everything can be done in Powerpoint now.
I hope you are not still uding the 50s X-ray machine.

But but but the CDC says the virus dies quickly when outside the body... Someone’s lying here...
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Or you could send them some hotter-than-hell salsa to clean the Ebola off the machines.
According to Internet lore, just put a couple of vitamin C tablets on the surface of the machines and problem solved....
