On November 15, open enrollment in the Obamacare exchanges begins again. Before the second act of our national healthcare drama commences, lets review what weve learned in Act I.
For starters, everyone now knows that federal officials are challenged when it comes to setting up a website. But theyve demonstrated the ability to dole out a huge amount of taxpayers money for millions of people signing up for Medicaid, a welfare program. And theyve proved they can send hundreds of millions of federal taxpayers dollars to their bureaucratic counterparts in states, like Maryland and Oregon, that cant manage their own exchanges. But there are many other lessons to be gleaned from Year One of Obamacare. Here are three of the most important ones.
1. Health costs jumpedbig time. Huge increases in deductibles in policies sold through the exchanges were a big story in Florida, Illinois and elsewhere. While the average annual deductible for employer-based coverage was a little over $1,000, the exchange deductibles nationwide normally topped $2,000.

But Obama said Obamacare is working so well. Is Obama living in la-la land?????
He’s not the only one. I don’t talk to many libs, but the ones I do believe that Obamacare is great, successful and “helping people”.

The man he worked for on a part time basis basically paid him by putting him on his companies insurance. Its a very small company but recently the owner had to scale back everyone’s insurance plans due to Obamacare.
He told my friend “ Well, you should have until the end of the year “ but just last week he was shut off.
He had visiting nurses coming every couple days to change a bandage on his foot ( toe amputated ) and that came to an end.
This guy has no idea what he can do now.
I fear that the havoc created by Obamacare is here to stay and our health care system will never recover. My bet is the RINOs will push their own version of a single payer system (socialized medicine)to "fix" the catastrophe of Obamacare.
Wait until they get their cancelation notice since their plan no longer conforms to the Affordable Care Act.
Those that are covered under ObamaCare will see both premiums increased as well as their deductables.
All this catasrophy for the sake of bringing in 4 million more Americans into the healthcare insurance coverage.
All this catasrophy for the sake of bringing in 4 million more Americans into the healthcare insurance coverage.
Ah, no... that’s not the true goal of the ACA.
The true goal is for the libs in question to feel self-righteous for wanting to help people get “affordable care”.
So, even with cancellation notices and increased costs, they’ll have to outweigh the feeling of “I’m a good person” in order for a lib to change his mind.
Does he not qualify for Medicaid, Expanded Medicaid, or same w/ disability? In my state sounds as though he would be eligible and enrolled by Nov 1.
“Wait until they get their cancelation notice....”
AND I WILL PROMISE YOU they will blame “the obstructionist Republicans.” And you know I am right. “If it wasn’t for those G__damned Republican freaks, my insurance company wouldn’t have canceled me. They are like ISIS, they want to decapitate the American people. They have no plan, they have nothing, they wanted to shut down the government. They hate women and gays and Blacks and they brought Ebola to this country to try to defeat Barack 0bama, that’s how much they hate him.”
I am making a Rush prediction, you will hear those direct quotes.
It is working well.
ObamaCare is supposed to fail catastrophically, forcing the US into a single payer system.
He must be eligible for something.
We live in Massachusetts and more than likely Mass Health is what he’ll get.
The guy racked up over 200,000.00 in medical bills a couple years ago with a very long hospital stay.
Recently he has been in the hospital a lot and I know the sums of money his insurance company have paid out have been huge. Still, doesn’t cover everything and the amounts he owes are quite large.
It is a little hard to feel too badly for him as he does not take care of himself in the least and has assets that no one knows about. He just won’t sell them.
Lives like a rat...no gas, hot water heater is blown, no hot water, no electricity on the second floor...its really horrifying. How he has managed not to have rodents or pests of any kind I have no idea. But then again there is not an ounce of food in the place. Everything is take out from a local sub shop.
The assets alone would not disqualify him from Medicaid even if declared (in most all states).
Our company’s open enrollment starts at the end of this month. We can access our choices online now. I wonder why Obamacare open enrollment is delayed until November 15th.
If I have blood coming out of my eyes, nose and butt....do I still qualify for Obamacare?
Open Enrollment started on October 1, 2013. I’m not surprised that they delayed that fiasco until after the elections this year.
