Wal-Mart, the country's largest retailer, is eliminating health benefits for about 30,000 employees to control its rising healthcare costs. The cut applies to part-timers who work fewer than 30 hours a week, Wal-Mart said Tuesday. It impacts 2% of the company's U.S. workforce.
More of Wal-Mart's employees signed up for health benefits this year than the company expected, which boosted the company's costs.. Obamacare requires everyone to have coverage, which has prompted people to compare plans available to them at work with plans offered on government exchanges. The cheapest and most popular Wal-Mart plan currently costs employees as little as $18.40 per paycheck. (That's going up to $21.90 next year.)

So they offered healthcare as long as not too many people wanted it. Sounds about right.

Sure, like working part time ( or Full time) for any company ensures your “ benefits” will never change
Lay this one on obamacare for driving up costs
How many other companies and employers are or plan to continue insuring part time help?

Get real...If you're in private sector America you better expect these companies are going to screw you at any opportunity to maintain profits...This has been the only thing playing for many years now.
BTW, like other fatcorps, Walmart is in bed with government and Obama...In fact, Walmart bosses are likely bribing government the insiders with their well funded and well placed lobbyist and insiders of their own....
What ya see in the paper means zip....

Since wal-mart can deliberately limit people to work under 30 hours a week, they can force them to lose their insurance.

Interesting... Someone I know at WalMart said the notice they received today was that family coverage for part time workers was being discontinued, and would affect a very small percentage of employees. Families are encouraged to look at alternatives (including the PelosiCare website) and that personal health coverage would not be affected by this change. A couple employees were upset, as they were working 20 hours a week and had their entire extended family on the health plan.
