The Wall is one place to look, the vast expanses of the internet is another.
Where have all The FReepers gone?
Long time in passing.
Where have all the FReepers gone..
Lonnnng time a'passin'
Everybody comes and goes,
The World spins NO one knows,
Where have the FReepers gone,
Gone to Heaven. Everyone..
Except for those still mround..
Where have you gone?
Old freepers never die, they just fade away obscured silhouettes in the smokey backroom of the FreeRepublic of yesterday.

Boy that’s a phrase from the past. Whatever happened to it? Who moderated it?
Apparently, he was running down JimRob in pm’s to others.
_________
I love JR and this is his party. But it is important to point out that some of the guests are ruining the party.
He was one of the most prolific posters on this site for years and years.
_______________
Remember John Haung who had a ton of posts every am from WND?
Daveloneranger not a name I have seen in a while.
Got one of those for my birthday last week. Lesson learned? Doctors seem to have a real issue with salt and fat.
I’ve been making that same point for over a decade, now.

I remember the day in 1994 that it came true for me. Wow what a long crazy trip it has been.
I have been here since November 6 1998. Changed my name with JR’s blessing because of difficult spouse. I was mlmr. Lurked for about 6 months prior. I am coming up on 16 years here.
I’m here, Lord willing, don’t plan on going anywhere, despite all the GOPe Trolls...
If you cant remember Don Morgan and A+Bert you havent been here very long. Don quit for some reason and A+Bert was banned so many times it finally became permanent.
_______________
Miss them both. I loved the passion and differences. And I loved all the other sites Freepers started that I learned about here.
JohnHuang2 or Kattracks.
Me too. Where are they?
They have been driven away in disgust by zealots
I especially remember some of our fine essayist! I looked forward to seeing their newest and the discussions following. Many went on to to be banned and after 9/11 you dont see near as many original Free Republic essays.
_____________
I remember them too. Thoughtful and passionate. I think that the essays no longer get posted because of the reception by some people. If you don’t to their line on some point it turns into a ripping instead of conversation or even debate.
True. I’ve had my share of back and forths and simply refuse to fully engage, preferring to state that the offending party and myself have nothing further to discuss. Otoh, I do love some of the rhetorical commentary and analysis most active Freepers still contribute. And the breaking news, such as the second Ebola being monitored patient relayed here from a radio report beat the news outlets by some 12 hours.
What.jeb.GOPe.jeb.trolls?jeb.
Lol...
Which brings me to the topic. When do you stop fighting? When you’re half broke? When you’ve lost a leg, say? At what point is it enough, that it’s all that they could ask, and that you pass the torch to others who are yet whole, who can, at least, march without hurting? How about two legs? What then, do you stop, because it’s all you can do, and you fade quietly into oblivion? Can you still stay up nights, after all these years? Can you watch your sons pick up the torch without falling back into senescence? Can you still drag yourself to keyboard and monitor and fight for your country? Can you do that?

That brought tears to my eyes. You have been one of the most thoughtful posters here on FR.
Any one remember A+Bert?
Wow have not seen your name is a while!
One thing that this thread has done is confirm that a lot of us are still here, albeit, lurking in the background. Busy lives, health issues and general changes here on the board seem to be issues.
Should have read all of the posts. Obviously some people do.
I went to a Freeper gathering I believe in December of 98 and we congregated in the bar of the Holiday Inn Capitol.
Mark Levin was there and Congressman Billy Bob.
In walked someone with a brown paper grocery bag over his head labeled “I’m Ash”
