A woman walked in on her boyfriend having sex with another woman early Tuesday morning and vowed to go home and get a gun, police said.
She made good on her promise, police say, returning to the house where she found her boyfriend and shooting him once in the groin as he sat in a lawn chair in the front yard of a south Wichita house at about 2:15 a.m. Tuesday. The woman, 44, was found and arrested a few minutes later at Lincoln and McLean, Lt. James Espinoza said. The 44-year-old shooting victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He was in serious condition late Tuesday morning, Espinoza said.
The suspect went looking for her boyfriend at a house he was remodeling in the 1100 block of South Emporia, Espinoza said. She found him there with another woman, who left after the girlfriend departed.
The victim was talking to two other men when she returned an hour or so later, Espinoza said. She approached the victim and pulled the trigger, but the handgun malfunctioned. She then cleared the gun mechanism and fired again, Espinoza said.
She walked right up on him, Espinoza said. I think there was some disbelief that that was going to happen. The woman was booked on suspicion of aggravated battery and not attempted murder, Espinoza said, because she fired one shot and was aiming specifically at the groin.
The Sedgwick County District Attorneys Office will determine what, if any, charges, will be filed in the case.
Wherever it came from it sounded like poetic justice to me...lol
Right.
He should have shot the murderous bitch right between the eyeballs.
And the gun went rootie-toot...
He was her man,
But he done her wrong.
You forgot the rest of the song:
-------------------------------------
Bring out a thousand policemen, bring 'em around today
To lock me down in the dungeon cell, and throw that key away
I shot my man, he was doing me wrong
Frankie she said to the warden what are they going to do
The warden he said to Frankie, it's electric chair for you
Cause you shot your man, he was doing you wrong
-------------------------------------------------
They fried her ... and rightly so.
Was nuts indeed.
yes
Seems reasonable.
You left out the last lines:
This story has no moral.
This story has no end.
This story only goes to show
That there ain't no good in men.
He was her man, but he was doin' her wrong.
I never agreed with the last verse. Of the four characters (Frankie, Johnny, Nellie Blye, and The Warden) only the Warden didn't cheat or murder anybody. And he's a man. So what the heck?
I have observed since then, that "cheating" always involves two cheaters, one of whom is usually a woman. I have also observed that women sometimes cheat with other women ...
Some women who cheat get wacked, too.
And nobody pretends its funny ... and the men end up in prison (or at the end of a rope) where they belong.
He was nuts not to run when the girl malfunctioned too!
True.
Well let me put it this way, Willie Nelson is not very appealing to women like me, so sewing him up to get a good nights sleep I could believe. Letting him live, well it would be easy to just wait until ‘On the road again, just can’t wait to get back on the road again...” comes back around...lol
Good point. However, the lyrics are what they are.
I have several Kingston Trio LPs, but I don't seem to have that one. I got the lyrics from a book of American folk songs.
The groin? Bad shot.

Oh, so it's okay then. I guess he would have just been s.o.l. if she hit him in the femoral artery and he bled out.
I heard of an incident where a man was shot in the fracas.
Is the fracas anywhere near the groin?
Can’t swear it was the Kingston Trio ... he had (still has, as far as I know) LPs from several bands of that general nature. Could have been any of them ... it was more than 30 years ago.
Next time I visit, I’ll have to check.
