When you think of a Greyhound, what comes to mind? Possibly a fast dog racing around a track? Greyhounds make great companions although this is probably not the first breed that comes to mind when thinking of adopting a dog. Perhaps it is because there are some erroneous myths surrounding greyhounds that keep people from considering adoption.

Accidentally leaving the front door open and having my newly adopted Greyhound disappear at 40 mph.

My sister-in-law adopted two greyhounds. They were both very loving pets. About the only issue was that they had to be taught how to go up and down stairs.

We had that with a Rottweiler.. took about two weeks! After that, it was about a three-bound trip up the stairs.

I used to have a Greyhound, his name was Henry.
He was a retired racer.
Man could that dog run fast.

Greyhounds are big lapdogs. They love being with you and they’re couch potatoes. If you love a laid back companion, a greyhound is right up your alley.

I’m guessing #1 is they taste like chicken, but what are the other four?

Fabulous dogs. My brother had several. They don’t bark. Great around kids. Even if rarely bathed, they don’t stink. And yes, they are sweet, mellow couch potatoes.

Point #1 - Nobody likes Examiner.
Point #2 - Nobody likes blogpimps.
Point #3 - You’ve made two posts, both pimping Examiner articles, presumably authored by you.
I guess that just about covers it. Except for one thing.
Meet by buddy, Humblegunner.

Tax-chick and her family were adopted by a retired greyhound. What a loving, docile animal she was!

The best dog on earth. She died of bone cancer two years ago Nov. 1. I’m not over it yet.
