On Friday, we, like many others, published photos of thousands of people standing in line to buy the new iPhone, the iPhone 6.
Most people think of these lines as being filled with crazed fanboys who just can't wait to get their hands on the latest product from Apple. However, filmmaker Casey Neistat (via Re/code) created a six-minute video that shows there is a dark, disturbing side to these lines.
The lines are not filled only with crazed fanboys. Neistat shows that the lines are filled with people waiting for days to buy an iPhone 6, only to flip it as soon as they leave the store. On YouTube, he says "this entire experience was disheartening."
We have the full video below, here's a quick rundown of what you'll see:

Hey, gotta make a living, right? Can’t blame you for talking your book.
Pre-order requires credit card. Cash only leaves no paper trail if the smuggled goods get confiscated. Shipping also leaves a paper trail and no doubt the Chinese mafia has their own shipping channels.
I have absolutely no connection to Microsoft nor do I own their stock.I'm as ordinary a consumer of computer hardware and software as you'll find on the planet.
And you?
Okay, still cash purchases in the store. Would that market be in different 1~2 days later without paying someone to stay in line?
Beer companies are doing this now with 1 day release “craft beers”. “Free paid vacation”, “factory tours/parties”, etc. for the first 10 in line.
The “Star Wars line” mentality moved to other marketing plans.
I agree. Being hired to do a job where you have absolutely nothing to physically ‘do’ is one of the easiest jobs in the world. You could literally do it in your sleep.
...or you couold just buy a Galaxy Note 3. No lines. No waiting. First mover advantage which Apple is now trying to imitate... and it does it all better.
Apple fan boys - get a life.
Why yes, I have noticed that.
I have two real friends, and my wife has TWO HUNDRED Facebook friends.
I posit that I am the true winner in that contest.

I’m the same way. Small handful of true friends, and an army of enemies (not my fault I swear).
Guess you’d have to ask the mafia bosses
I seem to recall, in the past, people paid people to stand in line.
My daughter preordered too. Fedx.
