National Review columnist Mark Steyn blasted claims by Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and others that the best strategy is to allow Obamacare to crumble under its own weight and only then seek to repeal it.
Filling in as host on Rush Limbaughs radio show Monday, Steyn, author of After America: Get Ready for Armageddon, explained to a caller named Joe that there is no reason to believe congressional Republicans have the will to repeal anything, especially considering that Carter-era institutions like the Department of Education and the Department of Energy have managed to flourish even in times of Republican-control.
[I] mean, Mitch McConnells line is now, Oh, just let Obamacare is going to be so self-evidently destructive that when we win our spectacular victory in the Senate election and the next presidential election, we will be able to repeal it and roll it back. When do the Republicans ever do that? Those Carter-era innovations like the entirely useless federal Department of Education, the federal Energy Department, even the National Endowment of the Arts when for decades it has been mocked for giving public monies to crucifixes floating in urine, homoerotic photography involving bullwhips attractively positioned

If they repeal it, they won’t have it as an issue.
Like abortion.
And one reason I refuse to donate to the Republican Party..
The GOP hasn’t really undone anything the commies have done, they even use terms like “settled law”. The left never lets a SCOTUS ruling stop them.
Hell, they can’t even stop funding Planned Parenthood.
can’t?
They won’t. They didn’t even when they controlled all 3 branches of the federal government.
This is why the GOP is useless.
Boehner has entrenched it. Sadly, for him, when the history of the United States is written, he’ll be the original weakling. Bastard.
If they don’t it is time to form a second party.
No reason to believe the GOP will ever do anything worthwhile ever again.
boner is the new quisling.
I don't know, it's pretty close
IIRC, there are about ten or so conservative leaning second tier and lower political parties. Take your pick.
If they get a majority, yet fail to deliver on anything, I will take my pick.
I’ve never missed an election. I’ve always been proud of both voting and jury duty. I consider them civic duties in our republic.
Nowadays, I’ve just about convinced myself that voting serves to condone tyranny.
Don’t worry. Many FReepers have assured us that THIS time, if we’ll just vote RINO “one more time”, it will all be different. You’ll see! No doubt they will be here any moment to remind us.

“No reason to believe GOP will ever repeal Obamacare”
I wouldn’t doubt if the GOP pushed for single payer.
People that support the GOP ‘no matter what’ brought this situation to you folks.
Are you not entertained? There’s plenty of them on all threads like this. Be sure to thank them for their hard work. Because SOMEONE fought like banshees to get these people elected under the lie that they were better than Dems and obviously they aren’t.
Blame them and hold them accountable for their actions.
