A suspected case of mistaken identity has left a 32-year-old man dead during a night-time romantic encounter in a Northeast Philadelphia apartment this week. Marc Carrion was shot in the head inside a unit at the Holme Circle Apartments Monday night after police say the man who lived there found the victim hiding in his daughter's bedroom. Carrion was rushed to Aria Health Torresdale Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries early Tuesday morning. nvestigators believe Charles Jordan, 41, opened fire on Carrion because he took him for an intruder, but those who knew the 32-year-old claim the man had been invited into the house by Jordan's 20-year-old daughter, reported the Philadelphia Daily News.

It says in the article that “a struggle ensued”.
Truthfully, if the father sticks by his story, it’s going to be very hard to get a conviction.
1) Father hears noise in daughters room, arms himself (because he knows daughter is not in room?)
2) Sees person crouching in room, thinks intruder. Calls the man out, man comes out in a hurry and maybe closes with father, and bang! shot in the head.
3) When he was charged, the father says he “was in fear for his life”.
That’s all she wrote.
Importantly, according to witness testimony, the daughter was nearby, if not in the room. However, she might have told her father that “nobody” was in her room. And that lie would affirm her father’s not guilty.
Perhaps YOU need to work on your reading skills, I clearly stated IF the lover attacked him that was a totally different story... not all of us have time to sit in front of a PC all day reading every word.
LOL!
She will have a hard time getting dates now.
Story says there was an altercation...Either the younger guy attacked the father or the father told the guy to leave and he decided he wasn't going to without a fight...
The girl certainly knew her father owned a gun...She (apparently) stayed quiet till after the shot was fired...She probably didn't know how to explain there was a guy in her bedroom...
The dead guy willingly sneaked into a young girl's bedroom...And then he was crouching in the corner when the dad came thru the door...The guy must have been a serious gambler...I mean what idiot is going to sneak into a girl's bedroom with her father downstairs and NOT consider he may have a gun...And then crouch in the corner like you know you're not supposed to be there...
Could be the father fired the gun because he feared the younger guy was going to cause great bodily harm to him...
Sad situation but don't go into another man's house uninvited...Could be deadly...I say not guilty...
I didn’t have any trouble understanding who was likely to be crouching. I would have to have more facts to weigh in. Where was the daughter and was she telling her dad to not shoot but he did anyway?
Totally agreed, especially if she was in the same room, it doesn’t say.
...almost sounds like an execution to me, the fact that he was “cowering” doesn’t imply he was much of a threat.
The worst part: It sounds like the daughter was “dead”. But, that is Philadelphia.
I was not involved in this. Just in case anyone was wondering.
The Editor is here on an H1B. English as a tertiary language...
:-) I’m a mother of sons - no daughters. I actually show them these kinds of articles as a warning. May they never, ever make these kinds of mistakes...
...who neglected to inform her father of her paramore's presence in the house. Oops. One dead perv. Too bad.
An oversimplification, now we have nothing to talk about.
Brings to mind the common speech of “Idiocracy”.
Anyone who spoke the English language with some degree of proficiency was “talking like a fag”.
That was my first thought when I read the headline - as if the boyfriend had just killed the daughter, and the father found him still hiding in her room. An awkward headline...
Yes...I’m now 52 and my wife is 40 we’ve been married for 13 years. Needless to say that her parents were not exactly thrilled by our relationship when we first started dating, but they have accepted it now, and have two grandsons to show for it.
One has to ask... what was this guy thinking...dating a 20 year old girl who lived with her parents.
Not only that... but you’re shaggin’ your squeeze, in her parents house, while they are home? It is unseemly.
Not if a) his adult daughter was a resident of the home and b) she invited him in.

If she did not tell Daddy, the guy was an INTRUDER. If she didn’t tell BF that Daddy owned a gun, she was a fool or maybe was tired of the BF.
There’s been a rash of shooting dead people lately. Maybe the zombie apocalypse has begun.
