A court hearing provided new details of the killing of Nancy Hammour, a 28-year-old woman whose body was found under a bridge in Newport Beach. The prosecutor said Irvin Tellez killed Hammour as the two rode in a car because she started screaming after seeing him shoot a woman in the face.
Tellez could face life in prison without possibility of parole if hes convicted and a jury finds the murder was committed for the benefit of a gang.
Deputy District Attorney Jim Mendelson said the violence started shortly after midnight Sept. 2, 2013, when Jaime Rocha pulled to the curb to hit on a woman he didnt know, who is called Elizabeth G. in court papers. Tellez was in the front passenger seat, and Hammour was in the backseat, the prosecutor said.
They were on Cedar Street in Santa Ana an area claimed by the Delhi gang, of which police say Rocha and Tellez are both members.
Elizabeth G. mentioned that she used to live in the neighborhood claimed by another gang, Alley Boys, Mendelson said.
She uttered the name of a rival gang, and thats all it took, Mendelson said.
He said Tellez shot the woman in the face with a 9 mm handgun and Rocha drove away.
Rocha later told police the woman had disrespected the Delhi gang, according to a court filing.
Hammour, who was in the backseat, was freaking out as they drove, and within blocks, Tellez turned around and shot her in the face, Mendelson said. Hammour fell to the floorboard and lay gurgling, according to police and prosecutors. After telling her to shut up, Tellez said, Just die, Nancy, just die and fired again, killing her, Mendelson said Friday.
The men considered burning Hammours body, but instead left it near the Newport

This choosing up sides thing is really big in some neighborhoods. It’s doesn’t stop as they transition into adulthood either.
Many adults in those areas carry over loyalties to certain groups, and animosities towards others.
I don’t like that environment.
Nancy Hammour, Found Dead on Labor Day, Sold Drugs for Mexican Mafia: Indictment

We are importing these people as fast as we can.
Pulp Fiction rides again.
Shut up and Celebrate Diversity!
Gang membership ties their generations together. It’s like attending the same private school.
I once watched a latino mother let her grade school aged son out of the car to go tag a wall in a very upscale OC neighborhood. ‘Family values don’t stop at the Rio Grande’ said the great political philosopher GW Bush.
The gang tags that have exploded and defaced the cities of north Orange County are rival gangs claiming territory, sometimes nowhere near where they live. Tagging is more serious than just making your neighborhood ugly. Taggers have killed property owners who have tried to chase them away.
Illegal immigration equals third world status. I am 63 and I hate to see what is happening to this country. I feel very sad for my kids.
The Mexican Mafia originated in the little town of Hawaiian Gardens along the LA-Orange County border. The founding family still lives there.
Yup. The Mexican murder culture mixed with LA black gangster culture.
So much for fresh faced kids with straight legged pants and parted hair.
Now it's sinister, guttural thugs with scowling hatred on their faces.
Totally agree with your comments.
You’re right.
It’s that Mexican fetish of an exaggerated demand for “respect” that starts in kindergarten and first grade, “He’s lookeen at me!” they wail, as though wounded in some way. Many never outgrow this weird behavior, which feeds the gang culture. It often ends in imprisonment or death.
Nice work in getting these two ass clowns off the street, they and the Delhi street urchins are at war with society and should be treated just like ISIS.
Same murdering bastards.
And isn’t the head of the mm calling shots from pelican bay
“And isnt the head of the mm calling shots from pelican bay”
If not there then somewhere similar. The original founder died back in the 1990s and I don’t know who is regarded as the chief shot caller these days. One of my friends is related to these people. And while he knows some things about them he doesn’t want to know too much. That can be dangerous to your health.
Makes for quiet family reunions
Guy’s driving around with a girl in the back seat, stops to hit on another girl...and amazingly enough, that’s not when the fight started.
They’re his cousins but it’s a big family and he doesn’t try to stay close to them. Besides the fact that a good number of them are locked up.
