Iraq's ethnic Kurds are longtime U.S. allies and have put up the toughest resistance to the Sunni extremists in the so-called Islamic State that has captured swaths or Iraq's north and west.
They're getting help from U.S. air strikes, but also need heavier weapons of their own to match the firepower of the Islamic State, also known as ISIS. Weapons have been promised by the U.S. and other countries, but getting them through the central government in Baghdad has hampered the mission, according to Kurdish commanders.
"We have heard weapons are coming, but so far we haven't seen any. As you know, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense doesn't give us any weapons. And that just encourages ISIS to attack us," says Esmat Rajab, a commander in the Kurdish forces, known as the peshmerga.

Note to Kurds: America’s word used to be worth something - not so much anymore.
In a (sort of) nutshell, we arm them today and in 10 or so years we will be arming those that are trying to ‘stop’ them from doing the same thing that has been going on for centuries.
We ‘help’ them ALL and when it comes ‘our turn’ for some assistance or even ‘moral support’ we get a couple of perfumed princes and I guess now we will be ‘punching the ticket’ for any Female Pilots or whatever field they go in.
Have the Saudis allowed us back or if so do they allow our Chaplains to set foot on their soil in PROPER UNIFORM?
The old ‘you need a scorecard so you can tell who your friends and non friends are...they all take our money but really want nothing to do with us....’ has never been truer.
Go in destroy everything that we’ve left/sold/given them/anybody in that region. Let them all ride camels.

So are the Mexican cartels, ISIS, Chinese reverse engineering designers and just about every government agency from the EPA to the department of education. In fact the only way that Obama regime won’t give you an s-load of modern American weaponry is if your are an American tax payer, that @ don’t fly with the homies...
obama is still sending arms thru Iraqi government, which means Kurd won’t get anything. Talk about incompetence

Wow. You are stunningly ignorant when it comes to the Kurdish people.
It’s not incompetence, it’s politics. U.S. policy from the beginning has been that Iraq is one nation and Kurdistan doesn’t exist. If we arm the Kurds directly, we’re no longer following that policy.
Interestingly, U.S. policy is irrelevant in this matter. I’ve been to Kurdistan. It’s a real place, and the Kurds won’t give it up without a hell of a fight.
When is 0bama going to sign an executive order to make the ISwhatevers stop killing everyone that will not bow down to their brand of Islam?

You might want to do a little research on who the Kurdish people are...
