Does she have any shirts that say, “Stetsons are cool!” or “Fezzes are cool!”?

Can’t forget the fez!

Do they have a different set of writers for this regeneration?

Ha! No, but she does have one that says I <3 <3 Doctor Who. Wish I knew how to do images. Those are supposed to be hearts. My MIL made them for her. I’m sure she’ll ask for more this Christmas.

He did, in 1972 IIRC (Car accident in Turkey),(the original) but the character never dies..

He was a great friend of John Pertwee, the third doctor.

In fact it was one of the reasons he left the show and we got Baker in the role. He just did not feel like doing it anymore when his contract was up.. The producer, “Lett” also left.

Interesting story....

[ Lots of people don’t like the Matt Smith Doctor but he really worked well with Amy and Rory (and River). He was clownish but he was actually one of the darker Doctors which was explained in the Day of the Doctor. ]

Clownish but Dark....

That is how people now talk about Troughton...

the 2nd Doctor, the clownish act is to disarm but when he had to be dark he could go right there...

How many Doctors maximum are there supposed to be? 12 or 13?

He got a new set of regenerations, see the 1980’s “the Five Doctors” & 2013 “Time of the Doctor”

>> Do they have a different set of writers for this regeneration? <<

Most people assumed all the slick "gay rights" references in nuWho (most of which were "blink and you're miss it" aside jokes that would go over kid's heads) were because the producer of the 2005 Doctor Who revival, was openly gay leftist Russell T. Davies, and his best known prior work was helming "Queer as Folk".

But the bizarre thing is that nuWho seemed to be even MORE in your face with the "gay rights" propaganda AFTER Davies left the show and the (straight) Steven Moffat assumed control of the franchise. Now they have whole episodes revolving around "happily married" gay couples.

Why Moffant wants to promote the gay agenda so aggressively is beyond me. There are entire episodes I refuse to rewatch because they insisted on having some blatant "gay couple" subplot. The worst was perhaps the episode "Closing Time", an otherwise completely solid and enjoyable story about the Doctor and an overwhelmed new dad having to track down a baby in a department store overrun by Cybermen. For some bizarre reason, they just HAD to include a "humorous" subplot about Doctor #11 and the new dad being mistaken for gay lovers. Without all the "aren't they a lovely couple?" remarks, the episode WOULD have been great.

Ever see the Dr. Who Weakest Link from 2007? A must see for Whovians. 49 minutes but worth the time.

Ok, ok. I don’t like Who. But how about this...

Hugh Laurie as Dr. Who, channeling Dr.House.

I might be able to watch that permutation without fidgeting.

I was never a Dr Who fan but clicked a YouTube link of a scene from the “Van Gogh” episode with Matt Smith and “Amy Pond”. It was the final scene when Amy realizes VG still committed suicide - it was quite touching.

I subsequently checked out the DVDs of the Matt Smith/Amy Pond episodes and really, really liked them.

I tried other Dr Who versions but found them quite wanting - actually rather boring...so the Smith/Pond episodes will be the only versions I’ll view.
