And also her costume appears to be painted or possibly even just tattooed on.

And I guess she’s in a crawling position, even though she’s clearly perched on a ledge, so she doesn’t really need to do the whole “wall-crawling” thing.

That’s what I realized. It’s a body suit.

It reminded me of the Seinfeld segment with his naked girlfriend.

The great Frank Frazetta would be completely vilified today. Today mouthbreathers would be ripping the Frazetta covers off of novels in order to destroy them, not because they were so awesome. Nowadays cover illustration for sci-fi/fantasy is mostly digitally made drek that won’t be remembered as at all remarkable or unique, the world will remember Frank Frazetta’s work for as long as it lasts.

I should add that that cover is by Milo Manara, a tremendous artist. I always thought it was unfortunate that he chooses to work in erotic comics so much, to my understanding. I only know him from Heavy Metal magazine, so maybe he did other type of stuff as well.

As the article suggested .... “Were I in one of the buildings behind, or just a little lower than the one the comic character is poised upon, I do not doubt that a few folks would be dropping their coffee cups, and rummaging their desks for their 7 x 35’s.”

In this race for all things equal, another comic storyline has been ruined.

Yawn. Nothing new. I remember seeing movie posters from 1968 in which a nude woman would be on the poster. Then they would cover it with blue paint to look like she had on a leotard.
And who can forget some of those Raquel Welch movie posters! WOW! I saw one in which someone had tried to paint over it in India Ink.

BEDAZZLED
FLAREUP
THE BIGGEST BUNDLE OF THEM ALL comes to mind.

Raquel Welch is one of the most attractive actresses in history, if you like curvy, sexy brunettes. Thank you for the reminder!

Note: Catwoman #1 would probably get deleted if I posted it.

I don't know what you are talking about. Are these women not realistic?

Get’s their facts wrong anyway ala: “a severely underrated B-lister who hasn’t had a solo non-limited series since the late ’70s.”

Her first series ran 50 issues and while it started in the late 70’s it finished in 1983. Her 3rd series (1999-2000) was not a limited series as it ran 18 issues.

I’ve seen much worse then this...to me it looks like she just came up the wall and is getting her feet positioned to stand-up, but yeah I can see the other side too.

Like others I can go back to novel covers from the 60s (Conan paperbacks, etc) and such that are worse then this.

DC’s female characters are, as a whole, better drawn and costumed.

Marvel is hit and miss. I never liked the Spiderwoman/Jessica Drew character or costume. But like Ms. Marvel (black costume) and Black Widow better than anything DC has.

That character design was actually approved? By people? I find that hard to believe.
