A man who was carrying an air rifle in an Ohio Wal-Mart told the police officers that fatally shot him that the gun was not real, according to a family member.
John Crawford was shot by police Tuesday evening at a Beavercreek store. The Ohio attorney generals office announced Thursday that he was merely carrying a brand of air rifle that Wal-Mart sells.
Another shopper, 37-year-old Angela Williams, collapsed and died as she scrambled to get away after police fired at Crawford.
The shooting occurred after police responded to 911 calls about a man carrying a rifle. In one of those calls, which was released by police, a Wal-Mart shopper told emergency dispatchers that it looked like the man later identified as Crawford was trying to load the rifle and that he had pointed it at two children, WHIO reported.
The 911 callers wife said that Crawford was on the phone and that he was messing with the gun. She said that after police ordered Crawford to put down the unidentified weapon, I heard two shots after I saw him turn. He still had the weapon in his hand.
But Crawfords family says that there is no way he intended to harm anyone that night.

From the threads posted last week, it looks like suicide by cop.
I see more than one HUGE lawsuit in some suburb’s future. If you live there, best to sell out now, before the bills get passed onto the taxpayers.
Phone-happy, ignorant busybody + SWAT mentality infrastructure = DEATH.
Itchy trigger fingers happen.
sad.
But In a walmart? man!! costco, walmart, military bases? is no place safe from sudden lead poisoning in the name of public safety and Allah.
Just make sure ya don’t use a pistol grip style water nozzle thingy.. if ya do, spray paint the end of it orange.
Outlaw all cops having weapons. Like they did with the Border Patrol, give them bean bag guns. That way dogs and civilians will be safer.
His name was Ralphie, and he was warned about his eye being shot out as a result of his Red Ryder BB Gun. He just never thought it would be by his local SWAT Team, followed by a complete bleed out.
What has happened to this country?Instead of showing”FEAR” at what is propelling us DOWN(Obongo and Co.),we are now”Terrified”of anything that looks like a GUN!!!Moochelle is taking care of the little boy who chewed his Pop-Tart into the shape of a pistol by BANNING Pop-Tarts!!!WAKE UP before It’s TOO LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If he comprehended enough to say “it isn’t real” why didn’t he comprehend the command “put it down!”?
Suicide by cop.
Mmm k. And it seems like they even got an innocent bystander....
Great shootin guys....
Remind me not to carry guns in Wal Mart
Remind me not to go to Walmart.
There should be a video of this since Walmart has video in all it stores.
That does not make sense and is inconsistent with what was reported.
If ya wanted cops to kill you, would you be playing video games just prior to this?
In addition the person on the phone with the victim said she overheard the victim tell the cops the rifle was not real just prior to the shooting.
Why would someone who wanted to be killed by cops as your suggested, say and do things that do not support this?

“The coroner’s office reported that Williams had a medical condition which was the cause of her death. The woman’s coworkers told the station she was to be married on Saturday.”
The other victim, a 37 year old customer in the store. Excuse me, but whatever her medical condition was did NOT cause her death. The moronic cops killed her the same as they did Crawford.
May Ronald and April Ritchie who called the cops and were running around alerting everyone in the store about a shooter be run out of town on rails. Stupid idiots have just as much blood on their hands as the cops.
“Bad cop, Bad cop,
whatcha gonna do,
whatcha gonna do with your low I.Q.”
It doesn’t seem like suicide-by-cop to me!
Who are Ronald and April Ritchie??????
