Cat owners, celebrate International Cat Day (Dog day is Aug 26)

It's International Cat Day, feline lovers. Time to celebrate those furry friends.
According to the website Days of the Year, about 500 million cats are scurrying around the world.
And dog lovers - your day is Aug. 26.

Our two indoor kittys are happy to be warm and dry after the hurricane fizzled. Our outdoor kitty that adpted us has apparently notified a buddy that we are a soft touch and has been hanging around, very shyly. The two are very special buddies, play all the time.
Wife has a voice that is much more soothing to cats than mine and has fed the newcomer several times now. After the storm passed, she heard him crying at the edge of the grass, something new for him. He got fed.
He is a white and tan colored guy, with a ringed tail. I want to call him "Coon" with that tail. Scandalizes my wife for some strange reason?

I just had to have my cat put down at 11pm tonight after a bout with illness took a turn for the worse. Earlier today he’d had a feeding tube put in and was sent home with an expectation of recovery. It seems strange to me that I open up FR and this is one of the headlines. Had no clue there was a cat day. I guess I will always remember the anniversary of our dear Skylar’s departure from this world.
