I just had to have my cat put down at 11pm tonight after a bout with illness took a turn for the worse. Earlier today he’d had a feeding tube put in and was sent home with an expectation of recovery. It seems strange to me that I open up FR and this is one of the headlines. Had no clue there was a cat day. I guess I will always remember the anniversary of our dear Skylar’s departure from this world.

Having gone through that myself, I know it was a hard decision to make. I hope you will take comfort in knowing that you spared your precious Skylar from more suffering and you have happy memories of the loving home you provided her as you acknowledge that she was a special being in the world, experiencing her one chance at being alive with you.
