What You Need to Do to Survive Ebola BEFORE the Panic Starts
SHTF Plan ^ | 8/6/14 | Mac Slavo

Posted on 08/08/2014 4:18:53 PM PDT by Kartographer

What’s most bizarre and frustrating about all of this is that neither the U.S. government or the Centers for Disease Control have provided any actionable information or advice to the American public. They maintain that they have the facilities to stop any such outbreak and continue to tout the narrative that there is nothing to fear, because they have it all under control.

Should even one single case pop up in a random U.S. city, that narrative will fall apart instantly. If someone in Georgia, Ohio, New York or any other state checked themselves into a hospital and are found to be infected with Ebola it will prove without a shadow of a doubt that all CDC containment efforts have failed.

In such an instance where Ebola is found to be in the “wild” anywhere in the continental United States you can be certain that panic will follow.

actually saying that MONSANTO brought Ebola to America so they can start marketing their cure for the disease.

It is not as if they wouldn't consider it Sarge. The world has changed some over the last 70 years.

When in danger or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout.

Actually there is evidence that it can be transmitted by aerosol. See “The Hot Zone”.

I'm familiar with it, but the information in it is dated. If I had a face shield on, I wouldn't worry about an N-95 because if those droplets hit your skin, you've got it anyway. I am citing Ken Isaacs of Samaritan's Purse, who should know. If you didn't see his testimony yesterday, you should. An N-95 and goggles is completely inadequate PPE.

Regarding the food storage calculator. Its a good source. IMO people greatly underestimate how much food they’ll need. Many times they buy the freeze dried food thinking it will provide more than it will. Many of the entree’s only allow for 200-300 calories per serving.

***Ebola is found to be in the “wild”***

We already have lots of wild diseases in the USA without a panic to go with them.
Plague
Hantavirus
Tularemia
anthrax
Bloody Murain
No doubt others like Cholera, Polio and Diphtheria are waiting in the wings for their chance at a reinfection.

Now we got new mosquito borne viruses headed our way.

first of all do NOT fall for all the panic in the media

This.

Weren't we all supposed to die from the bird flu a few years back, or was that the swine flu?

Georgia Girl 2:" Just have enough food to shelter in place and quarantine yourself at home for several mos."

Agreed !! Preferable 3 months supplies, or as you can afford.
Avoid crowds , buy Lysol cleansing pads ,minimze inter-personal, physical contact (ie: Shaking hands, hugs, etc.).
Store up bleach - effective decontaminate dose seems to be 10 parts water -to-1 part bleach
Battery operated radio, flashlights , headlamps, bottled water or water filtration systems.
You know , the things you would normally get to store for Hurricane , or Tornado warnings that can be stored.

Don't panic - but stay informed !
This virus shares 97% of the Zaire strain ; the remaining 3% remain unknown so far .
Go about your business as usual , with some additional necessary storage items (ie: medications ,allergy meds , eyeglasses or contacts, vitamins, etc. )
There is no need to panic ! Only two cases are known in the country now , and both of them are under medical treatment .

Even rain water needs filtering, so extend the life of your water filtration system by prefiltering your collected water .....using a 2 liter pop bottle;

I’ve said it before I am against the entree’s and ‘kits’, they are extermly expensive for one. The kits you run a good chances of getting food you hate so much you will not eat it unless there is nothing else at all.

You want the fixings and make what you know you will eat. You can buy lots of bulk things and pack they for long term storage yourself much cheaper than buying it pack.

You can even buy a dehydrator and pack and store gehydrated food many times much cheaper than buying it.

Do as much DIY as you can.

A lab test in animals separated by wire is NOT evidence of aerosol transmission.

Apply a commonsense test. If it is airborne, then 10,000’s should be dead, not <1000 in 8 months. Compare reality to the lab test. Which is more likely? Airborne transmission in the lab, or accidental contamination while cleaning cages. I’ve seen healthy pigs shit several feet when their feed was too hot, I’m sure the colon of a pig sick with ebola would be viral rocket launcher.

I have my towel.

Do you remember the original series on PBS from Great Britain? As badly made as it was, it was, hysterical. Arthur Dent did the entire series an a robe and pajamas, carrying his towel around

Don't Panic!

My kids loved the movie (more than I did), but that was mostly because of Marvin.

What the genetic analysis shows is that this particular clade of Ebola Zaire has been circulating in Guinea for a while, probably in bats (since they are thought to be the animal reservoir). This is the first time the disease has been known to infect people in the area—that doesn’t mean it has never infected someone there before, just that it has never been identified there before.

It’s really a stretch to think that this is some sort of bioweapon, especially when there are already perfectly good reasons for everything that has happened.

I didn't like the movie all that much either.

You have to try and find the series. Bad photography, bad special effects. It was terrific.

It was closer to the book.

It goes back over 30 years ago. Thirteen episodes I believe.

Rodents and bats freak me out because they both carry deadly diseases right here in the US. Rodents carry hantavirus, which is transmitted through airborne particles, and bats carry rabies. I hate when a rodent gets in the house, especially if I see droppings.

I wouldn't worry too much about the new mosquito borne viruses. They aren't usually fatal, even though they can make you feel like you want to die.

The remaining 3% is known--it is simply mutations accumulated since the pool of virus split geographically a few thousand years ago. Viruses always mutate; it's what they do.

one thing i’d add between the charcoal and the cotton, would be one large, or several small, silver coins wrapped in cotton or a coffee filter.
