Newman spun into McDowell, Danica clipped Newman.
A camera man right next to where Newman hit the guard rail.
What teams pit crew jumped over the wall too soon?
Logano’s.
He might get fined for speaking his mind. And the commentators have nothing to add. Pathetic! Why are they like that?
I didn’t catch that. Just heard it.
Wow they replayed a previous crash in that same are. Dangerous spot.
Quite a long stretch of silence after Ryan simply told the truth. Eventually they cue up tape to show a minor improvement made.
From the replay, she hit his rear panel which was laying straight out behind him.
Repositioning the cars to the front stretch then going back to red flag.
They got to get camera men away from the track. Don’t need anymore bad news.
I’m glad they finally addressed it. All this lagging in safety makes Dale Sr.’s death all the more tragic.
Ok I’m gomna say it. NASCAR is oval. If you want to road race, do something like the old trans am series. Not that it’s a huge factor in today’s race but this road course stuff isn’t NASCAR at least to me.
I enjoy the NASCAR road course races but the tracks need major upgrades with the speeds they run at.
I guess there’s a million-and-one ways to wreck a car and you can’t plan for everything. I mean, who would think you’d see a jet dryer involved in a wreck?
Yup, looks like the pcv is gooched. Maybe a cracked hose too.
This Stewart deal is really BAD.
I can’t imagine that he will be part of NASCAR going forward either as a driver or owner.
I saw the video and think that Tony just wanted to mess with the young Ward by gunning his motor and maybe spraying him with dirt. Ward walked in way too close, but that won’t be the issue when charges are filed and NASCAR attempts to protect their image.
I’ve always like Tony as a driver and an owner.
It’s a very sad day for the Ward family and my prayers go out to them.
Road courses are the only NASCAR races I watch faithfully. Nationwide cars at Road America are awesome.
The fence guys reminds me of a California highway crew
Lord I’m old. When did NASCAR start the road races? IIRC it was in the late ‘60’s early ‘70’s and Car and Driver/Brock Yates was pushing it.
Back then it was novel, now it’s kinda a distraction for me. I suppose it DOES get a lot of people involved who would othereis not watch, so it’s a good thing.
Or PENNDOT!
See post 157 typos and all, lol.
FWIW my fav in the ‘60’s and ‘70’s was GP. The cars go up, down, left AND right and race in all weather. After Bandini died on camera at Monaco and Stewart and Hill retired I lost interest.
