Las Cruces, NM (KTSM) — The Criminal Complaint against a 35-year-old Las Cruces man accused of brutally murdering his mother with a sword was obtained by NewsChannel 9 on Monday morning.

Hunt’s two children, ages 8 and 9 were in the home at the time of the attack and they were also reportedly woken by their father to let them know he had killed their grandmother.

Thanks for the ping. A friend of mine in CA was very good friends with this woman since high school. She was absolutely devastated, as anyone would be, by the fact that Lisa Cano’s son murdered her.

I just can’t even imagine someone doing something like this and then just calmly walking into the house and waking their spouse to have the police called. I wonder if he was into drugs or something, just based upon his appearance in the photos. What a shame.
