American complains of barking dog, crowing cockerel
An engineer from the US, who had been residing in Jaffna has lodged a complaint with the police that his neighbours dog and the cockerel are creating a nuisance, barking and crowing and disturbing him.
The engineer who lives in Navalar Road Jaffna has said that he has been disturbed by the noises around his house.
When the owner was called in, he said he cannot control his animals from making noise.
However, the police asked him to remove the dog from the premises, to which the owner said that if the dog is removed then the police should give them protection to live in the house.
What language is that? It reads like Jar Jar Binks.
If that happened in the US, the dog would be dead by now. Won’t speculate about the chicken.....
He had to get some job after George Lucas fired him.
I posted that at the time, but it was pulled for being not appropriate subject matter.
“cockerel”
You know they’re using that word so Americans won’t go all Beavis & Butthead. The rest of the world calls it a, well, you know what they call it.
A cock. (Even auto correct tried to change it to clock.) We call it a rooster while the rest of the world says, ‘But it doesn’t roost while it crows. Let’s face it. It’s even in the Bible: “cock.” You guys don’t raise chickens anymore, do you?’
I kinda lost my train of thought here, Nick.
Well it is kind of a clock.
Don't worry, we know you get all hot and bothered when you think of rooster.
That’s an astute observation! That is what they do.
Mebbe we should start calling them ‘clocks’.
Only Rhode Island Reds, I say, RIR.
