My top 10.
1. Hud
2. The Last Picture Show
3. The Getaway(Steve McQueen and Ally McGraw not the later one)
4. Red River
5. The Searchers
6. The Comancheros
7. Flesh and Bone
8. Bonnie and Clyde
9. Tender Mercies
10. Friday Night Lights

“Last Picture Show” was the first movie I ever saw with full nudity. Cybil Shepherd really did look good.
When Ben Johnson was asked to do the movie he said he would except he refused to use the profanity which they originally had written into his part.
Later, Bogdanovitch admitted it was better without it.

John Wayne said “Red River” was the best movie he ever did.
He even used the “Red River D” brand as his own and nearly always wore a belt buckle with that brand on it.

Second one I thought of and a flick which I recommend to people.
Is it on the list at the website? — the “slideshow” there crashed my browser.

(This is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion or satire; or both.)
To: Alex Murphy
Me either. There must be a criteria that the movie is filmed in Texas and not necessarily about Texas but in this case it wasn’t even filmed in Texas...it was filmed in Dallas and Austin.

We met Ben Johnson and he told mom to never ever let me see that movie. He said it was horrible and bad.

Eastwood and Kevin Costner’s “A Perfect World,” is a hugely underrated film, and IMHO,belongs somewhere on this list.
