By Yuan Ren 01 Jul 2014 Ever heard of yellow fever? No, not the disease you can pick up when travelling to certain countries. I'm talking about when Caucasian men develop an acute sexual preference for East Asian women – even becoming a fetish, for some.
Naturally, there are dating websites aplenty dedicated to 'serving' those men who have yellow fever, where the average East Asian women is increasingly being perceived as a desirable partner.
In fact, the most recent figures from 2.4 million users of Facebook dating apps showed a clear skew in preference for women of East Asian descent by men of all racial groups, except, ironically, Asian men.
As a Chinese, single woman in the UK - where I have rarely come across racism – my East Asian friends and I have encountered a fair share of men with telltale signs of yellow fever. But it's subtle, and of course, few would admit to surfing online dating sites for Chinese women, yet when the only girls they date are Chinese, then the probabilities are in their favor.
Having said that, I'm surprised at what British men, both young and old, generally get away with when talking about East Asian women (Chinese, Japanese, Korean etc.) as well as South East Asian women (Vietnam, Thailand etc.)

I assume you are talking about the soap opera? I see them sometimes, but I only know a little Tagalog, so I do not watch much, but the Filipinos watch.
The exotic is desirable.
In some circles it shows that you are so desirable that you can attract women that are "out of your league." The fact that they generally have an eye on the guy's bank account is discreetly overlooked.
Humans are quite amusing at times.
As an oriental, I am attracted to my Caucasian husband because of his look, build, intelligence, ambition, work ethics, and sublime self-confidence. He looks like Bruce Willis, just a little bit darker and more chiseled. When I met him in 2007, he barely recovered from congestive heart failure that almost killed him and being totally broke! Now he works over 60 hours during a slow week in winter and makes over $200000 a year.
I can only say we Orientals are probably not attracted to you either, maybe because we can not find much potential in you or just because your image in a mirror is just too much different from Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Brendan Fraser, or Keanu Reeves, etc. FYI, I know I was raised to find a diamond in mud because I was in mud too myself and we understand how hard life can be.
If you discriminate against a certain group of people, it must be because you are either ignorant or insecure. The only way you can conquer your issues is to face them.

I just watched Room Mate EP 6- Both Nana and Bom ate a freshly killed worm in an open air market....
Both are hot as hell performers - both highly recognized - but both are down to earth girls that come from traditional house holds and are fully engaged in their culture...
I’ve eaten alot of weird crap in my tours - but both of those girls have me on that...they are not stuck up - and they both have a great sense of humor...not unlike US Hollywood types...
They both work very hard to make it in that industry over there...and are highly appreciative to be where they are...

This entire post is full of generalizations. Nobody like rejection, but men are expected to be the ones propositioning women, so men are more likely dealing with rejection. That is why I say it is understandable. Many people find "different" interesting. Women have the same attractions to different, but perhaps not to asians. I also think that "crazy" comes in all languages.
People that are different can be interesting and attractive in a healthy way. There is the ugly side of attraction, in that the attraction is purely physical and associated with porn. I get the impression there is A LOT of Asian porn out there.
Sorry boys but too many "men" have a very unhealthy addiction that will never allow for loving relationships. Porn is as damaging as meth, except you can remain seemingly functional for ever, but you can't detox your memories -EVER. The effect on a family is toxic. I've seen an otherwise decent man loose gorgeous and good wives and precious children, not just once, but twice in his lifetime. Now he's just broke, depressed, and alone.
Just saying.
