Ron Schreck is a retired US Airways Captain and also a retired Lt Col who was F-4 pilot in Vietnam and later flew the F-16.

The video is him taking off from Gold Hill Airpark, NC, where he lives.

He built his RV-7 himself, named "Miss Izzy", and flies it frequently at airshows.

Great video! That is a perspective of flight few get to enjoy. I was fortunate to work in the field of international aviation during the "golden years" (1967 - 1986), and cherish those memories, from the Caravelle to the Concorde. Maybe it's just the light, but it looks more like an RV-4 (tandem) than an RV-7 (side by side).

Beautiful plane. My brother built a Vans Rv6A. He spent five
years building it, but it came out very good. He was a Los Angeles County fireman (now retired) and lives in Lake Havasu,Az and would fly to a small airport near his fire station in Pearblossom, Ca - pretty crazy.

One time, heading back to Lake Havasu from Crystal Air(with a strong tailwind) he made it in 55 minutes, so with the one hour time change, he landed 5 minutes before he took off.
