Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

Quite a burst of activity!
We’re back from the closing festivities of VBS, and I will give whatever children are here some lunch. Then we can take naps.
Inert mowed the back yard.

That was “it” for the day. I just checked the carpet and it’s still damp, but I think it will be dry in a few hours.
I’ve had my lunch, and I’m about ready to take a horizontal position for the afternoon.
Yesterday’s high was 109 and I think today is going to be almost as hot, since there are no clouds in the sky and none forecast for the immediate future. :o])
I miss my own computer. This one doesn’t want to take my password for email, and that’s irritating.
However, my handsome neighbor wants to take me to lunch whenever I get back to the ranch...wassupwithat, I wonder? Says he misses me. He introduced me to his daughters over the weekend, and they are beautiful girls. I told him he did good work!
Life is strange: boats and no Liberty; Liberty and no boats.

I just learned that UPS “may” be by today, but I am SO wanting to give up and go to bed!
Horizontal is what I want to be, right about now. I feel as if I’m being held hostage. GAH!

LOL. sounds familiar.
Used to work with a Chap whom i declared a 2 meter exclusion zone around . (6’6”, build like a brick outhouse)
To enter within that boundary was certain serious injury.
A recliner chair would be destroyed as soon as it crossed the boundary.
Still a good friend to this day

... like a brick outhouseBut on the positive side of the coin, the brick ones never got tipped over on Halloween...
Of course, to understand this you would have needed to grow up where there were a minimum of these two requirements:
1) Outhouses
and
2) Mischievous halloweenprankster kids (often described by the, um, victims as vandals or hoodlums) to tip them over on Halloween.

"Morning, Morning, Mornings all around this morning, T-c and Everyone." So that's where they come from!
I wondered whom to blame.

There are two recliners here, one on either end of the sofa, but as with all recliners, I can’t get out of them. The foot rests are so stiff that I find myself fighting to close them. Not worth the effort.
