This year I am so tempted to fly the Yellow, Green and Black Rattlesnake Flag instead of the Red White and Blue, or at the very least fly both and put the Rattle Snake below Old Glory. But I am still trying to decide on it....
In some ways I feel like raising the Red White and Blue is akin to pretending that nothing is wrong in this country and there are a lot of things that are going wrong right now. In some ways it makes me feel like I am surrending to the normalcy bias.
I could always fly the UN Flag I got in order to find out who in my neighbor hood I can trust should SHTF, since the anyone who comes over on the 4th and yells at me I can trust and those who complement me on it I can put on my do not ever trust again list.
(side point: I bought the UN Flag for the very useful purpose of either defacing it or using it for strategic purposes should SHTF and the UN is involved).
I really do want to raise Old Glory again this year, but I get more sad and upset every single year that passes...
Yes, it’s true. See previous post with news stories. Search on “HOA tells vet to take down flag” there’s quite a few stories.
I refuse to be cowed by the a$$hole currently in office.
While in Boston last year, my wife and I bought an American flag onboard the USS Constitution. The flag was then actually run up the mqast as we stood there, flew for a minute, and then brought back down. The wife held the end while a Marine folded it. It was worth the $25 fee.
That’s the one that will fly at our home on the 4th.
My aunt married a man with the last name Ross and thought about naming her daughter “Betsy” but was afraid she’d be teased. Elizabeth is still a popular name; I guess the nickname Betsy has just fallen out of popularity. Maybe it’s because of a doll that was popular years ago, “Betsy Wetsy.” :-)
Little Freudian slip there? LOL! Something you’d like to share?
Sorry, couldn’t resist. Too funny!
Same here. Will fly Old Glory with patriotic pride and gratefulness. America will survive these petty tyrants.
I plan on flying the Stars and Bars with the Bonny Blue below. The South will stand again and soon.
Who said it wasn’t? I mentioned the name due to its historical importance.
War Eagle!!!
Just bought a 3x5 one, myself.
Goes up tomorrow.

Stars ans Stripes,Gadsen,AND First official Confederate Battle Flag flown at Charleston during the Bombardment of Ft. Sumter
I will be flying the “Join or Die” flag. Though not actually a flag at the time of the American Revolution, I like the historical reference and hope to get conversations going with my neighbors. The following day it will be the Bunker Hill flag, then the “Betsy Ross” flag, then the First Navy Jack, then back to Old Glory.
LOL don’t tell her.
