A top White House official blamed a computer crash for the disappearance of emails from embattled former Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner, echoing the explanation the agency gave Congress last week for the two years' worth of missing subpoenaed correspondence. "I think it's entirely reasonable. And it's fact," incoming White House press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters aboard Air Force One Monday. There are miles of paperwork require to get ahold of backups and destroy them. There is no way they got their backups and destroyed them without there being rcords of it. They are stalling because they are screwed.

Don’t send a check and don’t file a return. When the IRS asks you about it tell them you did and they must have lost it in a computer crash. Everyone now knows that they have no backup systems at all. lol

Doing "warranty service" for a few government agencies back in the 1980s, I recall going on-site to replace hard drives on occasion, but they had to pay ridiculous replacement costs, because those agencies could not allow "dead" hard drives to be sent back to the manufacturer as a core. Instead, they went to a metal shredder.

I’ve never heard of a computer crash where I couldn’t get viturally everything back, especially emails. If the emails got scrambled, you still have the tape backups. To say the emails are gone is an absolute like, much like the 18 minutes on the Nixon tapes. We didn’t let Nixon get away with it. Are we going to let Obama get away with it, just because he’s special?

Lerner’s computer was NOT running the mail server.
Her e-mail client on her computer connected to a server(s) that handled the e-mail. The e-mails in question were still on the server if in fact her PC crashed and burned.
In other words, someone purposely deleted this data.

I had a desktop tower computer crash with tons of documents and bookmarks and my tech guy was able to retrieve every single bit of info and put it on a new tower.
I should clue the White House in on his name.
