A Connecticut teenager at the center of a 16-month custody battle involving the Massachusetts child protection agency was allowed to spend Fathers Day at home without any state supervision, a sign that her parents may be on the brink of getting full custody of her.
She came home, and we did a barbecue, Lou Pelletier, her father, said in a telephone interview Sunday night from the familys West Hartford home.
Pelletier said his wife, Linda, who has been staying at a hotel near Justinas residential treatment center in Thompson, Conn., drove the 16-year-old to the family home early Sunday afternoon. Justina then went with family members to a Cirque du Soleil show, followed by a dinner barbecue at the house with her parents and her three sisters.
The teens father said this was Justinas second visit to the house without any supervision. The first visit, he said, took place about two weeks ago and lasted about two hours. His wife, on her own, has also been allowed to drive Justina to at least one visit at Tufts Medical Center, he said.
Shes got pretty much freedom now, the father said, referring to Justina.
For most of the time Justina has been in state custody, her parents have been restricted to supervised visits at agency locations once a week.

When her parents get her back, they ought to move out of the northeast as fast as they can pack.
They should hire Katie Holmes’ attorney / father to do all the preparation for the move under the radar. Then one day, seemingly out of nowhere... poof... they are gone.. Just like Katie moved out of Tom Cruise’s grip.
I can’t believe they didn’t high tale it out of state two seconds after the idiots from the state left.

“allowed” and “state supervision”
I can’t tell you how offended I am at those words.
But I am grateful that prayers are being answered, progress is being made, and peace for the family is just around the corner.
This little girl was healthy enough to ice skate before the state took charge of her. Now she is confined to a wheelchair and has to be connected to a tube to evacuate her bowels. There is no fate to horrible for these Masshole aparatchiks.
Seriously, someone needs some “Henry Bowman” consequences.
Good. I hope the family sues into oblivion the doctors at Childrens and DCS who perpetrated this kidnapping.
That’s exactly what I think about it too. That little girl was kidnapped and imprisoned under the color of law. May everyone involved in doing it die a slow and painful death.
Unless it’s a civil suit, only the taxpayers will be paying in the end.
I just saw your ping. Thanks!
