Anyone here who gets the constant calls from "Rachel from Cardmemeber Services" or the Myriad of calls from all the other cell phone robocallers that offer to re-finance your home or credit card and are really just phishing for your credit card number or credit information. These damned fraudsters will call your cell phone with unsolicted calls (which is illegal by the way) and your home phone as well. They always seem to start with a pre-recorded message saying to press 1 which then routes you to a live operator who will take your information if you are gulible to give it to them.
Why the bloody hell can't the NSA put an end to this, instead they would rather record your damned call to your aunt Maybel as if her recipe for pineapple upside down cake is goign to be disclosing some great national security secret.
Why do we pay taxes for the NSA to go listen to us law abiding and they won't even do a damned thing to stop these jerkwads from calling me for the last 2 years????
These "robocallers" are actually breaking the laws unlike us who are being constantly harassed by them...
Come on NSA do you damned duty and track them down and shut them down or put a bullet in Rachel's head or soemthing.... Or just sit there and waste out money trying to glean my granmother's latest recipie for apple pie when I talk to her next time...
Thanks for hearing my rant...
They have to use that equipment for something between election cycles.
mark for reading...
I am also a receiver of Rachel’s concern, even when I stay on the line long enough to press the button to stop farther calls. There must be enough business generated to justify predatory, dissembling calls, but why that should be the case passes me by.
There’s a really good app called ‘Call Blocker’, at least for Android. It will answer, then hang up on the robocalls immediately. We got rid of our home phone so can’t help you there.
When they call me, it’s “Bridgett”....just got one. I send complaints to my “do not call” people but so far it has not worked.
All in and place your number on a “do not disturb” list.
It won’t stop everything, but it cuts way down on these sorts of calls.
Classic.
it’s daily and sometimes hourly, now.
I am seriously tempted to start using the NSA hotwords once I get a live person onthe line...
But the NSA would probably arrest me and not these despicable scammers...
It also lets you block specific area codes. The robocalls I used to get came from either NYC or Brownsville, TX. Go figure.
Now you are starting to hit on something, if enough do this, they will shut them down just to get them out of the equation and stop them from screwing with their equations.
I reported a number of violators, but found no way to follow up on the website and find out what action (if any) was taken.
Just tell 'em, "I Don't Want To Be Recorded!"
It really throws them for a loop, usually have to tell 'em a couple of times.
After stammering around, they end the call with a thank you.
At work the worst solicitors are stock brokers & bad debt collectors.
Oh, there is another from work, someone will call wanting to set an appointment for their boss to stop by and tell you how to make more money.
There my first question is why is the boss keeping all this information to himself and not sharing with you so you can be a boss too.
Y`all are going about this all wrong. Have fun with them. I use a foreign accent and jack around with them. It’s hilarious when they get mad. My kids love it when I get those calls.
I must have turned Rachel in 50 times for calling. It got so bad that I said that the Colorado no call people were just as bad as she was and were probably working with her. I finally got a reply and they said they were just contractors working for the state of Colorado and had no authority. When she calls just lay down the phone and waste her time or hit #1 and waste a live person’s time. I think she works for ICE.
Next time you get a live person, act like you`re hard of hearing. That one really pisses them off.
I get their stupid messages on my voicemail, since I don’t answer those calls.
