As the intensity and ferocity of national and international events seems to accelerate towards chaos, it seems to me and many others that all this is unfolding by human design. Forces at work on national and international levels seem to have been coordinating just such a climax for many years.
It often appears that opposing interests are merely battling it out, but then there is often the sense that the appearance of opposing interests is merely an illusion put forth to keep us off guard as to what is actually happening on a larger scale. Is there a grand conspiracy, and if so what structure does it take?
Terms like cartel and syndicate and cabal and mob and mafia get bandied about, and I think there is some accuracy in doing so. I'm curious to know how others conceptualize the structure of the sinister human forces that are behind the headlines. Any input is welcome.

In his opus, "Tragedy and Hope," Dr. Carroll Quigley(Bill Clinton's mentor) deliberately reveals the existence of a transnational American/W. European leviathan of political and economic power poised to seize control of the planet. Right from the start said Quigley, the complex has been controlling and manipulating Left-wing groups:
"...the power that....Left-wingers exercised was never their own power or communist power but...the power of the international financial coterie." (Tragedy and Hope, p. 954)
What this means is that though Communists and Nazis carried out the murder of millions of men, women, and children during the 20th century, and liberals and leftists have been undermining and destroying our civilization for over eighty years, all of this evil has been and continues to be financed by the ‘elite’ power complex, the real power behind the scenes.
Karen Hudes, a former insider at the World Bank affirms Quigley's claim. She reports that a treacherous global financial system dominated by a small group of corrupt, power-hungry figures centered around the privately owned U.S. Federal Reserve dominate the pillars of America's government and control the media to cover up its crimes:
"What is really going on is that the world's resources are being dominated by this group," she explained, adding that the "corrupt power grabbers" have managed to dominate the media as well. "They're being allowed to do it." (World Bank Insider Blows Whistle on Corruption, Federal Reserve, Alex Newman, New American, 22 May 2013)
Hudes, an attorney who spent some two decades working in the World Bank's legal department, has observed the machinations of the criminal network up close:
"I realized we were now dealing with something known as state capture, which is where the institutions of government are co-opted by the group that's corrupt... The pillars of the U.S. government – some of them – are dysfunctional because of state capture; this is a big story, this is a big cover up." (ibid)

I don’t know how the ICG operates but they seem to have their fingers in everything.
For instance, Mohammad ElBaredai was a board member but quit in the middle of the original uprising in Egypt and turned first in DC looking for support then in Egypt up as a candidate. The Crisis group wanted oversight of the election but ElBaredei lost. He was named VP by Morsi then stepped down in disgust when Morsi was ousted. I haven’t heard much about him since but I’m sure he’s lurking.
The ICG looked like they were the primary force behind the “Get Kony 2012” campaign in Africa. They were also playing around in Libya shortly before the fall of that government as well.
