As Don Henley continues on what has been a well-received, but apparently endless, hits-packed reunion tour with the Eagles, he

“Hey, you kids! Get off my lawn!”
Not a lot of kids at Eagles concerts, I think the average age of the attendees is about 60.
LOL!
That said, the Eagles are the BEST desert driving music.
What in the hell is wrong with these lyrics? Don Henley is right. I will not go to any damned movie ever again. The last time I went a jerk was looking at his IPhone the whole damn time. You can’t ignore that illuminated screen. And he wasn’t the only one. On another occasion I was dining at a local restaurant and I noticed four people sitting across from me. Three of the four spent the entire time texting. Real class there. I was tempted to ask the idle one to sit with us. Too many people are addicted to these toys. Again, Henley is right.
“Get Over It”
I turn on the tube and what do I see
A whole lotta people cryin’ “Don’t blame me”
They point their crooked little fingers ar everybody else
Spend all their time feelin’ sorry for themselves
Victim of this, victim of that
Your momma’s too thin; your daddy’s too fat
Get over it
Get over it
All this whinin’ and cryin’ and pitchin’ a fit
Get over it, get over it
You say you haven’t been the same since you had your little crash
But you might feel better if I gave you some cash
The more I think about it, Old Billy was right
Let’s kill all the lawyers, kill ‘em tonight
You don’t want to work, you want to live like a king
But the big, bad world doesn’t owe you a thing
Get over it
Get over it
If you don’t want to play, then you might as well split
Get over it, Get over it
It’s like going to confession every time I hear you speak
You’re makin’ the most of your losin’ streak
Some call it sick, but I call it weak
You drag it around like a ball and chain
You wallow in the guilt; you wallow in the pain
You wave it like a flag, you wear it like a crown
Got your mind in the gutter, bringin’ everybody down
Complain about the present and blame it on the past
I’d like to find your inner child and kick its little ass
Get over it
Get over it
All this bitchin’ and moanin’ and pitchin’ a fit
Get over it, get over it
Get over it
Get over it
It’s gotta stop sometime, so why don’t you quit
Get over it, get over it
Is that track related to ABSCAM?
Maybe I’ve just been around too long. I’m so tired of all the phoning and texting that goes on everywhere. All these people walking around on the sidewalk and in the stores talking to themselves. Used to be we’d shuttle those kind of folks off to the funny farm. Now it’s hard to tell who is really hearing voices in their head or who is responding to a voice in their ear.
If people can’t watch and listen to an event, why did they waste the money on a ticket? I just don’t understand the need for some people to always be connected to and talking to someone.
We need to make copyright much, much shorter. Is 7 years too long to make money?
Yup ... and I don’t know the answer to the problem, either.
Henley is a pretentious, elitist, liberal, SDS to the nth degree.
But I love the Eagles
Don is airing his “dirty laundry.”
The original purpose of copyright was to allow individuals to profit from their work. That has transmogrified to corporations collecting rent forever on works they had nothing to do with creating.
Sheesh, I have that CD. Didn't think it was 20 years old though.
You will absolutely enjoy this: http://www.econtalk.org/archives/2009/05/boldrin_on_inte.html
It’s an analysis and study of intellectual property rights and what affect they really have.
It’s about an hour, but you can download it to an MP3 player and listen to it as you drive or work or FReep. Ping me once you’ve finished it and tell me what you think.
If you enjoyed it, pass it along to others. We have to get these ideas out there to win. Ideally, intellectuals/elites have to learn this. They drive a culture.
Glen Frey?
Thanks! I will download it to my phone.
Yet he is a dedicated Democrat, Liberal and Obama lover.
He also had a soft spot for CA Democrat Senator Alan Cranston way back when. Cranston was a real POS, but Henley and most of the Boys thought he was going to save the Environment and a whole bunch of other Liberal causes.
They raised a whole bunch of money for good old Cranston.
“Turn up the Eagles the neighbors are listening.”
