I see a future Jack Nicholson film: Korean Town. No more aqueducts to build so now we build subways.

Didn’t Jerry Brown say the sea was about to flood LA? That makes this subway much less impressive of a project.

Here we go again. Another “must have” taxpayer funded “project” throwing Billions of taxpayer monies out into the unknown zone to eliminate a contrived crisis in traffic congestion, and/or air pollution so the Leftists, and their supporters can skim the funding, and eventually return much of it to their political party that doesn’t go into their own pockets.

It’s a common ruse primarily promoted by Democrats.

The Democrat party must be minimized for this country to survive.

Maybe they can use Seattle’s tunnel boring machine. Some disassembly may be required. :=)

Either there should be no subways at all in LA, or there should already have been one that went to the sea.

The liberal hypocrites that live on the Westside wanted public transportation for everyone else in LA, but not through their precious neighborhoods.

Were they afraid of the "wrong" kind of people being able to get in and out of their richer neighborhoods so easily? Were the taxi drivers afraid of losing fares?

They use the fear of earthquakes and methane explosions as an excuse to cover up their darker reasons for opposition.

They hate the traffic in their area, but they want everyone else to get out of their cars so they can continue to ride in theirs.

The biggest new fad is called "traffic calming". They create huge bike lanes and have to take out lanes along major surface streets. Rather than calming drivers it has infuriated them as getting in and out of the Westside is now even more painfully slow.

The city was going to build the trains to go under the streets or over them, but the people opposed it for one reason or another. So the government decided to do the only thing they could and use existing rails. This will mean even more traffic stoppages as cars have to wait for the trains to go by.

It's all quite hilarious.

“- The federal government will spend $2 billion”

And when that 2 billion runs out?

I cant recall the last time a government project like this came in under or at 2 billion. Mustve been 70 years the last time. (An exaggeration, but not by much)
