He's a pioneer in the realm of clinical infectious diseases in the Caribbean. And now he's under fire for testifying that homosexual intercourse is dangerous to those who practice it—and to public health in general.
Professor Brendan Bain, a practicing Christian who serves to treat AIDS patients, was the director of the regional coordinating unit of the Caribbean HIV/AIDS Regional Training Network (CHART) at the University of the West Indies in Jamaica, until his anti-gay sex comments caught up with him.
Bain was fired in the wake of fallout related to his testimony on behalf of a group of churches working to keep Belize's sodomy law in place in 2012. It took two years, but now he's paying the price for his beliefs.

It can’t possibly be due to his research and reality, no, it’s because he’s an EVIL CHRISTIAN that thinks EVIL CHRISTIAN THOUGHTS and needs to be left to his BIGOTED CHRISTIAN WAYS.

This is a shame and a crime against science.
It’s truly a scary time in the history of mankind.
This man was not anti-gay sex; he was pro public health. For a long time, the gay community has been lying about the consequences of gay sex. Gay sex is a serious health problem with many unpleasant results of the practice. Since the push for gay rights, the gay leaders have made a of point of never discussing how dangerous their lifestyle can be. Instead, they always call those who would tell the truth bigots, haters, etc. Why are we letting them do this?

Well now we can throw it right back at them.

The doctor is obviously mistaken. Inserting a penis (that has an opening at the tip) into an anal cavity that almost certainly contains fecal matter is obviously part of the healthy homosexual lifestyle. Also highly recommended: swimming in raw sewage (particularly if one has open sores), practicing deep-breathing exercises in a tuberculosis ward, and burning off pimples with a welding torch.
I remember when Surgeon General C. Everett Koop advised the truth to the public and “political activists” wanted him fired.
Truth is not welcome here.
Unfortunately, neither will be the next consequence of making truth the enemy.
Things get harder when truth and sanity are rejected.
AIDS is just one of the signposts warning us what's ahead on this path.

You’re correct of course, but what passes for “modern science” is now completely agenda driven.
They don’t care about FACTS anymore.
From a technical standpoint, the issue is not so much homosexual sex as it is anal sex.
It is entirely possible to have heterosexual anal sex, and the health implications appear to be more or less identical.
Other forms of MSM, and female homosexual sex in general, do not appear to carry anything like the same degree of risk.
In theory he could have defended himself by claiming he was discussing the health implications of a particular sexual practice, not the identity of the participants.
But of course that wouldn’t have made any difference to those determined to get rid of him. Another scalp on their belts.
Research science has been agenda driven for decades. What passes for science these days us anything but. The only studies that are funded are the ones whose outcomes are pre-approved.
Along those lines, think “climate change.”
