Harrison Ford may be reprising yet another beloved film character he made famous decades ago. In late April it was confirmed the 71-year-old actor would pick up a Lightsaber once more to play Han Solo in the JJ Abrams-directed reworking of Star Wars. Then on Thursday Deadline reported Ford was being asked to step back into his role as Rick Deckard in the sequel to his 1982 science fiction thriller Blade Runner.

This is my favorite Sy-Fi movie of all time and I think they should leave well enough alone. First off without Rutger Hauer (who was awesome - stold the show) it wouldn’t be Blade Runner. Second off, the best part of the movie was its open ended, though provoking plot which made you think. Was Decker a replicant himself? Was Decker the good guy or the bad guy in the movie? Or were there any good guys or bad guys in this movie? Were the replicants wrong in just wanting to live and doing what they think it took to survive? Making a sequel to Blade Runner would be like drawing a mustache on the Mona Lise.
In guessing his beautiful and sexy robot girlfriend in the movie will not have aged any.
That could keep a man young.
For the record, the “Director’s Cut” version of Blade Runner released on DVD without the voice over was vastly superior to the theatrical release.

Here’s an idea. Hire new actors who will work cheap and make movies on the cheap with new ideas and new stories.
When I first saw Harrison Ford in Star Wars decades ago, I never thought he’d become such a major star. I thought the Luke Skywalker actor would be big. It was not to be so.
I preferred the one with the voice-over - it ain't noir without it.

If the script writers take the time to write a character/actor-driven script with a great plot it could be good. But so many movies are driven by action and cgi that they forget about the three basics of any play or movie - plot, script, and acting. If you don’t have those, forget about it.
And it's ironic that almost 35 years later the non-cgi special effects of BR hold up remarkably well. If the flick was released today I don't think anyone would complain about the quality of the special effects. You don't need that stuff to make a great movie.

He was the one who briefed Martin Sheen on his mission.

His character was the first hint that some people still on earth were there because they didn’t have a choice. ONe of the frustrating things about that movie was some of those issues were never fully resolved and you were just left to your own imagination to write huge parts of the back story.
She was good in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
