The victim of an attempted Bronx carjacking went berserk Friday, chasing down the thieves and shooting them dead, cops said. The 30-year-old man was driving a Mercedes-Benz SUV when he was approached by Jermaine Johnson and Kaiison Lewis outside the Dyer Avenue Deli Grocery in Wakefield about 4:40 a.m., police said.

This guy, based on the story, is guilty of murder.
Whether the story accurately captures the events as the happened may be debateable, but if he did what has been alleged he committed murder, period.

The fact that he “chased them down” is not in and of itself evidence of murder, 2nd degree or otherwise. Most jurisdictions allow fresh pursuit of an offender to recover your property when it has been taken in your presence, even though that may not be the wisest thing to do.
You sre not in most states allowed to use deadly force in defense of property alone outside the home, but lesser means of force are allowed to detain the offender for arrest by the police. It is simply unclear from the article as to whether or not events escalated to the point that deadly force was justified in defense of his person.
If this part of the article is true, "Johnson and Lewis, who both lived in Mount Vernon, N.Y., tried to steal the SUV at gunpoint", I have no problem personally, at all, with what he did.
Thugs play by jungle rules, time we start playing by jungle rules too, it's eventually going to come to that.
Besides I think it a far better thing that thugs live in fear of being offed in the commision of crime than the law abiding. Seems like a more natural order of the universe to me.

Oh yes, that is a prevailing thought in TODAY’s society. I watch a ‘couple’ of the Judge shows (Judy, Alex and Kevin) and it is really amazing to hear the logic of people in regards to stuff that we take for normal, common sense.
The English and word usage is comical, ‘they’ make up words, have absolutely no regard for private property, sue their own parents and kids over nothing.....kind of ‘hard’ from someone whose basic mantra is ‘Don’t loan ANYONE money, especially family, unless you have an understanding with yourself that you aren’t getting it back’.

As for the victim being "uncooperative," the strongest admonitions NEVER to talk to the police without a lawyer present, comes from ex-policemen, and I have always taken it seriously to heart. The victim is simply being unusually aware of his legal position. Good for him!

Charged with murder and practicing his 2nd amendment constitutional right which clearly states “shall not be infringed” but is infringed upon anyway because who cares about the constitution?
