And in Chicagp weather....torrents of bullets followed
by screeching Ambalances. Take care Windy Citiers!
Looks like a storm cahsers dream! Wide-open plains and high-energy turbulence.
Wish I could be there.
I would much rather face the California earthquakes than the tornadoes.
Earthquakes are always a surprise. One THINKS it's a big truck rumbling by at first. Then, when the shaking goes on another few seconds...ah, an earthquake.
No anticipation to suffer and short-lived. SOMEtimes there are aftershocks, but they get smaller and smaller and shorter and shorter.
Tornadoes are predicted and storm warning are blasted forever warning the folks to take shelter.
Hah, Dorothy and Toto hold fast in my mine--watching her trying to get into the storm shelter. Whoa! BIG winds blowing away trees, cars, everything. WATCH OUT FOR THAT MAIL BOX!!!! Whew!!! Almost got me!!
The AGW scam alarmists are praying for it; they have not had a "see, I told you so" in years!
Just a couple days ago the models painted this area as a significant risk. Now ...things don’t look as good for numerous (strong tornadoes). On Saturday, the upper level support lags behind too long and the moisture is not that impressive. Supercells will start out as high based, but may get rooted in the boundary layer later in the evening. Also, the 700 mb temps really cap the atmosphere...everything will depend on timing of the parameters. Sunday looks a little better if you believe one of the models...but for another there is too much forcing which may limit the discrete cells and may just form a linear mode. All in all...what looked like a textbook severe weather outbreak has become much more murky since last night.
I notice that the Gulf coast is out of the range for the tornados. Is that coastal area less prone to tornados? Where are the safe places in Texas, weather-wise?
Great - I am leaving Saturday afternoon for Dallas.......
For some reason my house always seems to be included in those predictions ..
I can only imagine how these storms are going to impact the economy and the strong recovery we were having,,,
another excuse for Øbama to use...
Global warming. I’m sure of it.
Quick, everyone to the mall! I’ve seen tornado shelter signs there.
Yippee.
Looks like springtime in Oklahoma. I was attending OU in 1970-1971. We did a lot of amateur storm chasing locally around Norman. There was never a shortage of storms.
So what does WeatherBELL (Joe Bastardi) say?
Saturday is the anniversary of the Andover tornado (April 26, 1991).
