The Missouri Department of Corrections discovered, upon preparing to release a prisoner who had served a 13-year sentence in July 2013, that the prisoner had never been incarcerated and promptly sent him to prison.
In the intervening 13 years since his 1999 arrest, Cornealious 'Mike' Anderson III, 36, has transformed his life, becoming a master carpenter, starting his own business and marrying and having children.
In July last year, as he and his youngest daughter slept in the St Louis home he built for his family, a SWAT team outfitted in tactical gear and helmets swarmed the house, arresting the terrified father of four and delivering him to the Missouri Department of Corrections, where he's been ever since.

The victim of the BB gun armed robbery contacted the local news rag after he read about the case, and feels that the "hardened criminal" (/s) shouldn't go to jail.
But what does he know - he's just a silly peasant.
America's Law/Prison Complex: It's About Rehabilitation, Unless It's About Showing Crimnels And Other Peasants Who's Boss.
But not Lois Lerner, or Eric Holder, or Charlie Rangel, or IRS agents, or BLM agents, or Jon Corzine, or many, many others of our Royal .Gov Types.
This ex-criminal has been a productive citizen. The state of Missouri bungled this. Too late to jail him now. Give him 5 years probation
Plus how is robbery with a BB gun an armed robbery?
No doubt the Governor of Missouri gets to feel very good about himself when he issues a pardon.
Dang! The Gear Queers missed a chance to flash-bang the little girl to death.
No justice in this.
Don't question the judgment of your Royal Betters, peasant dennisw.
Seriously the government missed its chance.
They would have been wise to sweep this mistake under the rug. If the guy was truly a menace and dangerous the victim would have been alerting the authorities 15 years ago.
Their utter incompetence is on such display now. Not smart.
But I have little confidence that the right thing will be done.
Sounds to me they accidentally sentenced him to home confinement. Sentence served.
Hey, if we let guys like this walk, just think of all the prison guards and parole officers that would be out of a job...
The governor is able to issue a pardon, isn’t he?
But, in the USSA, there is no political upside to issuing pardons. So they are rare now.
The main reason I hated Romney’s guts was that he boasted of never issuing one of those wimpy pardons while governor. Tough guy. Meanwhile, Gerald Amirault was rotting away innocent, and everybody knew it. If you’re not familiar with that case, don’t Google it. You’ll get sick.
The vicious 900-pound retarded troll that is the government doesn't like to admit mistakes.
See "Cliven Bundy" and his pals in the BLM.
Oh, and don't forget the cowpoop-eating tortoises...
Did he shoot his eye out?
I’m ready to ban SWAT teams. This is effing ridiculous.
Tacticool-wearing Gear Queers...
Well the guy will do the time now as he should. Whether it’s a mistake by some prison official or some stupid EO that allows illegal aliens to run free for a period ... the fact they built decent lives doesn’t erase what they did. whether the sentence itself was fair and just is a separate matter. But if a mistake is made and a prisoner or illegal alien is allowed to remain free for a period of time that doesn’t count as time served.
SWAT needs excuses to terrorize citizens. Put them in jail until they grow up.
No, not really, just broke a lens in his glasses. However he did beat the shit out of the local bully. Very good job.
Refresh my memory - how many years did Bill Clinton serve in prison for the much more serious crime of perjuring himself in front of Federal Judge Susan Webber Wright?
Granted, Clinton didn't have a BB gun...
Did the perp want the victim to believe it was a real gun?
If the victim believed it was a real gun, he experienced an armed robbery.
