The brainchild of Canada-based photographer Peter Andrew and Creative Directors Simon Duffy and Derek Blais, The Point Blank project shoots handguns in close-up, portrait-style, and straight down the barrel. In doing so, the project creates large-scale, extremely detailed, and uncomfortably in-your-face frontal photographs. The images have a jarring beauty in the symmetry of design, the depth-of-field, and the level of detailall the more powerful for their implicit violence. These subjects have, quite literally, the power to kill.

They’re propaganda and meant to reinforce the liberal belief that common people should fear guns.
Cept it’s empty.
hear, hear! and i know exactly what that looks like...
If the photos had a hand holding the weapon in them, it might remind people that firearms are inanimate objects, and can only be misused by people. That does not toe the Party line of “Guns are Evil”.
lol
You see a sight like that, and the next thing you know, you will be meeting with the Old Timers at Murphy’s Chapel.
In other words, you are dead. A quick, merciful death.
Just proves what I’ve read before: Shiny guns are scarier to the bad guys! :) (My 7 shot SS .357 looks my intimidating than any of those, I think)
I like the look of the .44 caliber hollowpoints from mine. They cause “loose bowel syndrome” in the pointee.

True story. I was 18 and just arrived at my unit in Ft Benning Ga. I had already been in the army a year, but things happen and by luck of the numbers I was transferred to a new unit from my old one.
I was put in a room with three black guys. They were your typical boastful young blacks, who tried their best to intimidate me. They were learning that I was not impressed. As much I was friendly, they continued their intimidation antics.
Then one Friday evening I was taking a shower. I planed on spending the night painting the town. Now the showers were like five feet away from the CQs desk was.
I was facing the wall as i rinsed off a head full of shampoo. I heard the door open and close, but never thought anything about it. That is until I heard someone clear their throat right behind me.
I turned around to see the barrel of a revolver pointing right at my face. I could see the barrel of the gun and it had bullets in it, behind the gun was a black guy about my size looking at me with a big grin.
Almost immediately I reasoned in my head that five feet away from the door was a CQ who would be in the shower quicker than I could hit the floor if he pulled the trigger.
I also reasoned in my head that it was but another form or intimidation to get me to show fear. I called the guys bluff and turned around to finish rinsing the shampoo out of my hair. The next thing I heard was the shower door open and close.
I gave it a moment and turned around and the brother was gone. I said a prayer and pissed on the wall under the shower head. Finished my shower, wrapped my towel around my waist and headed back to me room. The whole incident lasted maybe a minute, if that long, and not a word was said .
From that day forward, my roommates stopped trying to intimidating me, and just about every black guy in the platoon began treating me like one of their own.
Never had a problem with anyone after that night. If anything, it seemed like they treated me with more respect than they did each other.
To this day though, I still know what it feels like to have a barrel pointed at my face.
hey there mister I didn’t mean to kiss her,
I got no trouble with chew.
And if you want to know what a gun looks like with a gang banger pointing one at you - turn the picture sideways.
No “Kill-O-Zap Gun.” I’m disappointed.
For those of you who never read “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy:”
Kill-O-Zap is a deadly silver brand of handheld weaponry. The designer was clearly not instructed to beat about the bush. Make it evil, theyve been told. Make it totally clear that this gun has a right end and a wrong end. Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sorts of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, this is a gun for going out and making people miserable with.
I am sure they didn’t mean for it to be pleasing but that is some great gun porn
Yep. A mere .22 muzzle looks like the Holland Tunnel.
Yep...they look a LOT bigger
Just getting the libs ready ...
