An Upstate woman's April Fool's joke landed her in jail on Tuesday.
A report of a shooting at Virginia College in Spartanburg County sent deputies racing to the scene. Within minutes, however, they found no shooting had taken place.
Instead, they found a 54-year-old employee of the college, Angela Timmons, had sent a text message to a family member telling them "she was hearing gunshots inside the college and that she was hiding for her own safety," according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office.
When the family member got no response to a follow-up text, the family member called 911 to report a possible shooting in progress at Virginia College.
When questioned by investigators, Timmons admitted it was an April Fool's prank, according to deputies.
She was charged with one count of disturbing schools.
oh.....she’ll get a pass. Holder will handle the release himself.
... and one count of weapons grade stupidity.

Man, there’s a whole lot of stupid out there.
” Hallmark has cards for it just like the other faux holidays.”
You’ve got to be kidding! “you’re a fool so I’m thinking of you today.”
Waaaaaah waaaaaaah....
She’ll hold on to the job and they’ll blame guns instead.
Always fun working in an IT department on April Fools day. You can get EXTREMELY creative with the jokes, and no one gets hurt or killed; usually. One of my favorites was placing several layers of clear tape cut into very small squares over the little holes on the handset of someone’s office phone. Usually covering either the listening end, or the talking end. When the phone rings, or they call someone, it creates a one way conversation. They never notice the tape either, being clear and cut so small.
Another good one was creating a little executable that shows a Windows Explorer folder transfer box that Displays Text above the status bar reading: “Payload Deployment - Windows Will Uninstall In 30 Seconds. Please Close Any Running Applications”. Below the status bar, I had a button labeled ‘OK’, but when they clicked it, nothing would happen. Usually they just freak out and manually turn their computers off. To make sure it would happen, I’d place it in startup. If I decide to leave the place, I’ll put it in our network Login Script on my last day. LOL
And it also won’t injure small puppies because they are too lightweight.
Amen! ;-)
I just sat back and watched.
SGM:”SPC SMITH!!”
Smith: “Yes SGM.”
SGM: “My mouse isn't working. Call over to the 6 shop and get me some trackball grease.”
Smith: “Yes SGM!”
Five minutes later a Sergent from the S6 shop pops in.
SGT: “SGM, I came to fix your mouse. You know SGM, there is no such thing as trackball grease.”
SGM looks up and his neck veins start popping out: “Do you think I'm stupid SGT!?! I know there is no such thing as track ball grease. Hell, my mouse doesn't even have a trackball! What kind of crap are you trying to pull? Get the $%@# out of my office!!
SGT; “Yes SGM!”
The SGT does an about face and moves out into the hall. 30 seconds later he is screaming for SPC Smith.
Sarcasm. She deserves some time in the pokey.
What did I write that got pulled? I don’t even remember!
OH MY WORD!
My signature post: “I’d hit it.” .... WAS REMOVED!!!!!
This is PROOF THAT THE END IS NEAR!
Everyone knows that you are supposed to lift puppies by the ears.
There is, of course, the old “black tape over the mouse laser” trick.
Yeah, that one is a classic. Most folks have gotten wise to it over the years though. We’ve stopped doing it, because it’s one of the first things people look for if their mouse isn’t working right.
My newest one is to strip the keyboard wires, and spray a very thin coat of PAM cooking oil on the keys, then put the keyboard wires into the electrical outlet.
They do NOT need coffee after a 120 volt jolt!!!
aaaaAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
